Just checking in after 2 month's and about 35 gigs and a couple of sessions with the M5V.
Well, what to say. This bass is INSANE!!!! Just wonderful. Does everything i'll ever need in a bass.

I'll piggy-back w/ the same opinion of my new M4V. Never did I think I'd like or need an active bass..Nice to be wrong every once an awhile.

Guess I should have joined the club long ago. I've been in love with my MV5 since I got it in 2009. In fact I just finished another session with it tonight. All my other basses have come and gone.............some really good ones...........but the MV5 is still numero uno.

Well I guess I'll chime on too-I just finalized my order.Passive PJ5,Alder P body,Maple board.I was torn between active and passive so I ordered it with a pre routed body so I can easily add a preamp later if I ever feel I need it.

Now the wait.

That's a beauty right there.

I'm in!

I own

#1165 Modern 5, qulited maple top, trans black with maple neck.

Here she is my PJ4. Black with red tort. Ash\Rosewood, J neck, passive volume, volume, tone and 7.6 lbs. Both pickups can easily stand on its own and the combinations in between are great. The neck is great, it feels a bit thicker than my Sadowsky J. Just awesome.

Enjoy the porn.:bassist:

Wow! That red tort guard really did turn out wonderfully! I'm pretty sure they decided to special order that color after I let them know you were really set on having lots of red in the guard. Congrats!

Here's a pic of my personal Lull M5V that is in the works. It's a twist on Geddy Lee's black jazz. I asked them to make mine a dark trans black, so dark that it looks solid black in normal light. You can tell in the photo that they had to use a lot of light to see the Ash grain underneath, so I think they nailed it.

Maple board to go with the Ash body, matching headstock, and I've got three pickguards coming with it: white pearloid, black pearloid and tortoise shell. I'll probably settle on whichever one looks best, or I might just change it up every now and then. :)

I've gotta give Props to Mike Lull... I bought a M5V last January off the Forums classifieds and loved it. I sold it in September to fund an amp Thunderfunk amp purchase thinking I'd most likely get another down the road... Fast forward - I've recently been mixing some tracks I played on over the past few months for several projects and I kept asking my business partner -"What bass did we track on this?" he kept answering -That Lull 5er... The thing is just huge and in the mix - so I just picked up the recent natural Ash M5V / maple board in the classifieds... Pretty excited to have one again - and Def Keeping this one!

I can relate. Just got back master tracks for an album I played on, and the cuts where I used the Lulls were singled out by the artist, producer, and engineer. Absolutely amazing instruments.

I'll be a member in good standing again soon enough.... put down my deposit with Greg at Rocket Music today on a Surf Green/Maple V4. I've missed my old blonde Lull more than any bass I've ever sold around here.

Here's my old one.

That is sexy!

was just at his shop the other day and played a few of his basses. he had a single pickup T-bass with a trans white finish over swamp ash and a maple/rosewood neck. it was pretty awesome. he also had a JT5-24 that was really nice as well. he was on a local rock station here in WA talking about Jeff Ament's new signature bass. a pretty cool interview.

I realize this isn't the wanted classifieds but I figured this would be the place to ask... if anyone has a 3 ply black pickgaurd for a M5V laying around, I'd like to buy it. Thanks!

You could always call the Lull shop directly about that. They've got that sort of stuff in stock typically, and they're happy to ship. 425-643-8074
