well, It was a real beotch to build, but I just finished my Phasor II clone today and it fired right up on the first try. it sounds frickin' awesome. i'll have to get out my original one to compare them but I can't imagine the vintage one sounding any better than the clone. i have to say that it's probably my most satisfying build to date.
the clone also has a rate led indicator, a soft switch relayed true bypass, and i'm really diggin' it's smaller size (mounted in a 1590BB), plus its ability to run on a standard boss power supply.
it was such a complicated circuit to hand build on veroboard (it took hours and hours!) I will not be building another one but i'm sure glad that I have it now.

Nice one bud! I am jonesin to hear the Tru-Tron 3x and will likely pick one up when I come to the US next. My problem is that I keep on buying expensive clones...

How does the Tru-Tron get powered? 12v AC? Or something like that right?

hey! for those in Europe who are having problems with powering, or need repairs, thegigrig in the UK does it. Dave Mapleston is a Mutron specialist. I sent mine there for a checkup back in 2008, and they also modded it to use their virtual batteries inside, and it can now be powered with a simple Boss-style center-negative 9v PSU!

I bought mine for about 300$ on ricardo (swiss auction site) so that was pretty cool considering they are around 600$ on ebay! The additional tuneup and recap, mods, work and shipping from the gigrig only cost me 70£ so that was nice as well. It now kills! Although I don't get to use it much as I'd want to at the moment, I don't think I'll ever part with it...

I was thinking that something like a Fuel Tank Chameleon could do the trick as it has that switchable AC jack that can run at 12 volts. I definitely have to get my mitts on one!

Nice! Thanks for the info. I will definitely contact him. I could use a 9v power solution for sure. As it is I keep on buying expensive clones to solve the issue. That and I don't want to bring the vintage versions to shows anymore now that they are worth a minor fortune.

@Lebowsky I was literally at the post office about to send my Mutron III off to get the virtual battery setup and I decided not to. Once I get my next johnk clone, I will have 2 clones that sound great and I am not sure I want to remove vintage value from pedals that are worth a fortune. The cables Richard and Mike were making seem like a much better solution as far as keeping value. I wish it wasn't such a permanent mod.
