That’s an Aerodyne clone. The bass is so black, that it absorbs almost all light.
I know...I just like Bartolini pups!
When will the spalted maple bass come to fruition? Are you building it yourself?

Now here's a real surprise for me. I knew of this bass, but never knew it was 35" scale!

I played 35" scale 5 string Basses exclusively for over 15 years until 4 years ago when my best friend(Guitar player) and I decided we were going to form a ZZTop Tribute Band. At that time I had to get the 50's style P's and Tele's. I very quickly sold my 5 string Basses.
I've always been a big King'sX fan and when dUg Pinnick announced his new signature Schecter Baron H, I had to get one. I was not surprised that it was slightly neck heavy as is the case with most Basses with Tele bodies. My dug only weighs 6Lbs 14 oz.. Before the week was out, knowing it was a keeper, I gathered together the parts needed for a strap pin extension and took a drill to my new Bass. It actually added the benefit of shifting the Bass back enough on me so I can reach the last tuning key. It's so light and comfortable to play. Other mods to it include the addition of a Babicz Bridge, a vintage Seymour Duncan Active EQ pickup(same as the stock pickup but w/ EQ switches), a small pickguard and fretboard stickers for personalization. I use the same DR Hi-Beam's that dUg uses, .!00's.
The quality and craftsmanship of this Bass can't be beat for the $$, IMO.
2 years ago aftter the strap pin extension. It sets on my wide body with short arms much better. With it only weighing less than 7 pounds, it is so much fun to play.
The dug Bass kinda opened my eyes to Schecter Basses and I have 7 Schecters now.

I thought maybe you were going to do say you did that set up where you could flip the bass around right in front of you like they did when Eliminator came out.
Some special waste belt connection without the usual shoulder strap. Ever see those?

No, I don't suspect that will happen. I told my Guitar player early on in the ZZ Tribute thing not to ask me to do Fuzzy guitars or ones that spin. Ya never know though, it's all been so much fun.
I bet it's been fun! I saw them a few years ago at the York Fair in York, PA and they were great. They did their hits and a whole bunch of blues from way back when.
