the Official Ampeg Club Part 5

Did a gig this past weekend with the SVT-CL and 212AV. Such a great combo!

BTW, did anyone hear anything about the new Ampeg SCR-DI pedal or maybe get to check it out at NAMM? It seems pretty cool, almost seems like their version of the Sansamp BDDI. I'm seriously considering pre-ordering one.
I think it looks like a cool piece of gear. It's a great preamp if you're running a pre/power amp/cab setup, or if you're running an amp/cab live rig, in theory, you could run it as a DI in front of your amp and still be able to send your "Ampeg tone" to FOH.

It's been awhile since I posted in this thread, that V6B looks great! I saw one for sale locally that was thrashed but the guy said it worked well.

I wanted to ask other SVT owners here if I could be pointed in the right direction in getting a knob for my SVTII NP. Somehow, I am missing one of the knobs with the white dot on it and they seem impossible to find online. I put a black D shaft knob with the white line on it in its place form Fliptops, but the OCD in me would like to find one without having to buy another SVTII head.

If I have to buy another, I would then have to run 2 810's with one and two 215's with the other in apartment....which would be both ear bleeding loud and awesome.

I don't know of a source for those knobs. Every now and then I see an Ampeg amp from the same era selling cheap that has those knobs (like a solid state guitar amp or a 400T). Picking one up, harvesting and reselling may be the way to go if the OCD really requires you to need a replacement (trust me, I know the feeling).

Thanks Bass 45. I may have to salvage one somewhere like you said. My friend told me to put a different knob on the mid selector and make it custom. I may have to see if any SVT III guys I know have one, I used to own a III NP and still keep in touch with the guy.
