And 'Only' $300 bucks for the help?......No thanks.....
Wouldn't know....Never tried to fit it in a guitar bag because a) I don't own a guitar or a bag to put it in and b) As I said, it comes with a nice gig bag so why try to put it in a different one.....
Any doubts....Drop Adrian a mail....
Don't know...I don't do dropped D....Fair enough on the guitar thing. I play both, which is expensive.
I'll look him up in a while. Without a band, I probably shouldn't be looking at more basses.
How does it handle dropped D tuning? Some shorties can be a little too wobbly sounding. My Rob Allen Mouse 30 has an insanely good dropped D, especially for a short scale.

It's a matter of strings and setup whether it'll take drop D tuning well. I don't have too much experience with shortscales, but if your standard E string is a .105 then you'd step up to a .110 so it retains enough tension when you tune it down. If your normal E string is a .110 you'd get a .115 or similar. And in terms of setup you'd have the E string slightly higher than you normally would so it doesn't start buzzing.
Much like low Bs, sometimes a bass handles it better than others. No clue why my short scale Rob Allen does it so well without special strings or a special setup, but it does.
In terms of tension there can be no difference as long as the scale length is the same. Which is why I brought up strings. Many people complain about floppy B strings or floppy strings when they're drop tuning, in that case changing strings and maybe the action a little bit will literally fix that. And loose strings will also sound different because they vibrate differently in the magnetic field of the pickup.
How these low notes actually sound at the end of the day depends on many factors, but I wouldn't dismiss or classify an entire bass to have a "bad" low B or dropped D string.
I also can't ignore the recent issue that a fellow TBer had with their maruszczyk and the bad customer service that they received.
Wow.
I don't want to scare anyone away and I'll definitely post my own experience once my bass arrives. It's just something that's been on my mind.Wow.
I didn't see this. Thank you for letting me know. I almost bought a Maruszczyk last week. Not going to risk buying one now.

Does anyone here have experience with the type of bridges that come on the Cazpar and some other Maruszczyk/Mensinger basses? Here's a photo:

I can't tell definitively, but it looks like there is no screw adjustment for intonation. Can anyone say for sure? I'd hate to have to loosen the string and slide for each adjustment.
Also, do you know if the screw-hole pattern would allow easy upgrading to a Hipshot or other bridge with screw adjustment?
Thanks.
