Okay? I'm confused. Where was the CNC machines mass producing bodies and necks? So is every Jake and Elwood model made that way or was that just the more expensive "custom shop" models?
I'm about to make a deposit on a custom bass I've worked out with Adrian. Payment is not through there website so could folks who have done custom orders let me know how they paid and thier experience? Thanks!
Not sure if it's an option in the US, but I use Invalid Link Removed. It's extremely easy and gives the best rate I've been able to find.

Transferwise is great, and definitely available in the US. I used it to pay Adrian for my bass when I ordered it.
Well, took the plunge! Put a deposit on a custom Joker 5 string / 34" / Delano Extender pups and Sonar pre / Ebony fretboard / violin finish. Will look something like this except longer neck and oval pups. Adrian even sent pictures of tops to choose from. Fingers crossed.
Yeah I have a foft spot for semi-hollows, f- holes etc. I have a Warwick Starbass which is nice but its a rockbass so definitely a comprimise. Im expecting the Joker to be an improvement, Im sure Adrian can do better than Warwick! Looks like you went with the old violin finish also?
Hi everybody. Thing is I'm in love with my Jake 5a+ but find the weak link to be the Delano PMVC 5 FE/M2 P pickup. It sounds somewhat dark, doesn't bark as other P pickups. Even the cheapo' no name P pickup in my crappy P kit sounds better, more flat, more open, IDK (). So, I was thinking of trying some different P in its place. The stock pickup's dimensions are those of a standard P, meaning each "box" is 56mm x 28mm. Top box has 3 poles and the bottom one has only 2 (top one missing). It's positioned more cramped than a standard 4 string P, meaning less offset amongst both halves. For this kind of layout (same dimensions for both pickups, just one has 2 polepieces/sets of polepieces) it seems my only options are either the Delano small poles P pickup (PC 5 AL/M2) or the Nordstrand NP5. I simply won't spend 120+€ on any of these pickups. Cheapo 5 string P pickups are non-symmetrical (halves are different size), so I was looking for 4 string P pickups (of which I know there's a wide variety of cheapos to choose from) with as spread a "polepiece zone" as possible (a regular 2 small pilepieces per string P pickup just won't cover wide enough) and ran into Link Removed, which costs less than 20€. Now I did some figuring out in PowerPoint and it looks like it might work in my Jake 5.

Just had a thought.....Adrian throws in a free strap with the bass and I found that this one in this color was a good match for the finish.....

Loving it....It's just so versatile.....
As I've mentioned before somewhere, my only problem with it was messing with the bridge to get the intonation right.....
You have to slide the saddle then tighten....test....un-tighten the saddle...slide...etc....etc....
A bit of a pain but not the most difficult thing either....
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine
