So @Quadzilla and his lovely Jazzus with Walbuckers have really caught my ear. That YouTube video he posted really has something of the Wal sound about it. When both pickups are switched to series….oof. I loved that.
I have had my eye out for a few years for 'Wal-alikes', and I think I might try a Jazzus to see how close we can get. (Wal's are just a bit too expensive for my tastes.)

However I am a little stuck on the preamp choice.
The Noll TCM 3P preamp is a semi parametric wonder. It sounds great from what I hear. However it would probably be more 'authentic' if I tried to get hold of an ACG EQ01 filter preamp, which I could do.
The approach to EQ is radically different between these systems and I am genuinely torn as to which way to go. Easy enough to swap if need be, though a hassle with costs/time.
Anyone have experience with the ACG EQ01?
