Thank you.Thanks!
The fingerboard is made of Katalox.
The whole bass is wonderful but the fingerboard grabs me in particular.
Enjoy!

Thank you for pointing out the headstock size. And that picture offers a useful comparison. It's worth noting - for those with a sensitive eye to the classic proportions - that while the bodies change size according to scale length, the headstocks appear to remain the same full size.
Personally, I think the 32 just about carries it off, but the 30 looks too jarring for my tastes.
Thanks, the quality is top-notch and I also agree about the fingerboard. Excellent piece of wood!Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous! I have a thing for dark wood and dark finishes.
I love the Katalox fretboard on my frog! Thanks!

I've always wanted a short(er) scale J bass with nice pickups. The Configurator is too much fun.
This Elwood C has Aguilar 4J-60s, Hipshot hardware, passive V/B/T. Debating 30" vs 32" still.

New bass came in a few days ago. Ordered Feb 10 and it delivered May 6.
Main Specs:
Elwood L 5 String— 32" Medium Scale
17mm spacing
Alder body - Rosewood Fingerboard - Caramel Roasted Matte Neck
Charcoal Frost Metallic
Nordstrand Zen Blade Pickups with Parallel/Series/Single Coil Switches
John East Preamp with 18V operation
HipShot hardware with Xtender on the B string
I ordered from South Shore Music here in the USA. They were great handling all of the correspondence.
The bass will need to be slightly tweaked setup wise due to all of the travel and weather changes (Germany>Massachusetts>Georgia). But I always let my instruments settle in to the climate before making any drastic changes.
Loving the bass so far. This one sounds bigger than the Lakland 5 it is replacing. And it's 3" shorter!
I'm expecting the Joker I ordered a couple of weeks ago to arrive in late Nov or early Dec if everything goes per the usual 15-16 weeks. In the meantime I have been pretty curious as to the actual width of the body at the widest part. Any chance you might please measure that dimension and post what it is? I'd be grateful if so! Thanks.
Wow, that's a nice looking bass!

What does the tribunal think?
Jazzus 4
34", 22 frets
40 mm nut width
Mahogany body
Wenge top with matching headstock, matte
3 piece maple neck / maple fretboard
Turner multicoil pickups
Lusithand Dual NFP
Hipshot hardware, black
Luminlay side dots, green
Upgraded gig bag
It'll come to around $3,000 with the enhancements and shipping, etc. That's an expensive setup with the pickups and pre. A little cheaper than a certain alternative, though . . .
