The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

Great to know!
So I will keep an eye open. I like the design, but I'd love to choose a different color scheme, different bridge and maybe adding active electronics.

i'm sure anything can be done , sky is limit and only thing Adrian ever turned me down for was when a customer asked for custom shape lol "no" ...

So ..... it pains me to say I am very close to putting my almost brand new Frog Beta 4 up for sale ..... I really wanted to love this bass but the string spacing is considerably wider then any other basses I play in my collection and therefore the adjustment period each time I pick her up takes to long to get used to.

It's a shame as i even had a beautiful "Lion head" mother of pearl custom inlay done between frets 11-13

Before I post her up on various bass classifieds sites, I'm wondering if there's any interest here on this thread ...

Here's the Public Peace link to the bass:

I'd take it in a New York minute if it was short scale......

Really classy looking bass.....

Good luck with selling it....

What is the string spacing? Isn’t it 19mm, just like every other 4-string under the sun? (Save for some of those weird custom signature basses I’ve never heard of (and don’t remember the name of, either) that someone once pointed out to me with 16mm...)

The specs show 19MM but (and I know this sounds crazy) it doesn't feel like every other 19mm .... the string spacing feels wider. I've been playing bass 30+ years and 90% of the basses I've owned had extremely familiar string spacing ... the frogs spacing just seems wider.

When I get home tonight, I'll measure the spacing comparatively with some of my others .... stay tuned.

And no, the spacing doesn't appear to be adjustable like on some other bridges. I wish it was as I'd love to keep her but if I can't get comfortable with her, what's the point right?

Yes, I already considered the monorail situation ..... I've got some thinking to do.
The new bridge may be worth considering - i had a Marusszczyk for a few weeks - and lost a ton of money on resale - had i been able to "fix" the things i didnt care for, then i would have forsure. It sounded great but without going into details, it just didnt suit my needs. I ended up buying a Wal - it suits my needs lol.

Yeah, maybe I'll go digging into my couch cushions tonight hoping I can find $5,000 in nickels and quarters and I'll go out and buy the MK2 I've been gassing for and not worry about this monorail situation :)

if you can find one for 5K, let me know! LOLOL ... i really just meant its worth investigating instead of losing a bunch of money on resale (IF you truly love the rest of the bass) - otherwise...

So I've reading all this wonderful thread for the last few days and playing intensely with the configurator (Damn this is addicting!!!).
I'm planning on building a custom passive Jake or Elwood in solid color PJ configuration (like the one in the pic attached) and I have several questions for you guys:

1 - I've notice that depending on the model (Jake/Elwood) the price of the same pickups is very different, especially in bridge position.
Adding a bridge pickup to a Jake is much more expensive than changing the bridge pickup in an Elwood. Any reason for this?

2 - Is the included gigbag (Standard) is good enough for this great basses or should I spend more for the thicker one (Standard GBBS)?
3 - I've read earlier that a strap could be included with the order, is that correct?

4 - Is there a great difference of weight between Ash body and Swamp ash that would justify the additional cost? I want the bass to be fairly light ( like my Lakland Skyline Deluxe 44-02) around 3.7 kg.
5 - What would be the best tuners for regular and flatwounds strings (1/2 or 3/8)

Thank you guys for your help

1 - no clue
2 - yes
3 - yep
4 - i dunno, srry, but it's a tad lighter in general from what i read and heard
5 - 1/2 of course, even configurator tells it if you point on "?" sign near 1/2 the tuners option (recommended for flats)

And i gotta say that after a couple of gigs I found that I wasn't thaa happy with delano PC 4 AL, their JC 4 AL pup is funky is hell but precision one just lack "warmth" that makes my sound what it is

Btw - lightweight option is available if you drop a letter to Adrian - my bass is ~3,4 kilos

Hey Man
Thank you for your swift and useful response.
Awesome
Yeah, for some reason  I overlooked the question mark near the tuner option, my bad .
great insight on the pickups, I wouldn't want to miss that "warmth" especially from P bass.

once I'll complete the order I'll send an email to Adrian.

Appreciate your help.

More real life testimonies on the pickup config are welcome.
