I just checked the basscentral.com site and it's funny how both your MTD and the crotch walnut MTD Ace was SUPPOSED to get, are still up on the site :eyebrow:. They really need to learn to update their site regularly, especially when basses are sold.

this one is definitely a keeper. I even send my pic with the bass hoping they would post it on their site but it never happen, didn't even got a reply. I guess they're too busy selling basses....:smug:

Hi Guys! I have determined I need to get a nicer 35 inch scale Fiver, and I am GAS'ing for a MTD.

What Dealers would you recommend? The one here in the City, Rudy's, doesn't really push them ,and only occasionally has one around. (They push Pensa's and others in that price range)

Didn't like the comments I have seen about BC..

Suggestions?

Glen at Austin Bass Traders always has some nice stuff......Joel and Beez at the groove shoppe can really hook it up....You'll get pics of your bass in progress all the time...great customer service...Bass exchange in LA does too.....BC always seems to have a couple of nice ones in stock if you wanted to buy a stock bass.......if you are ordering a custom piece get it shipped right to your house to save on shipping...If you were to go through BC just make sure you ask for a pic of the EXACT bass that you are buying and let them know that if there is any difference you will be sending it back......

:p Well it was worth a try asking you hahah. Hey but if you EVER... for some reason decide you just need to get rid of it, could you let me know first? But in the mean time, I hope you enjoy the bass fully for me since I can't have an MTD just yet :crying:.

I hear that Joel at the Groove Shoppe is a good guy to deal with. He is in close contact with Mike and also in close proximity to his shop.

+1 I can definitely back up both of these choices as excellent folks to deal with. :)

I purchased my 535 from Austin Bass Traders. Glenn is a great dealer. I had called Mike and told him what I was looking for, and he recommended Glenn. He is extremely knowledgeable about everything he sells, and is a very nice guy. He, Mike and I went to dinner while at NAMM 07, and I really got to know him.

Ok, a little premature to post but I do have a MTD535 in my possesion. It is #746 spalt top, ash body, maple neck, rosewood board. I traded my better looking roscoe:bawl: for hopefully a better sounding MTD:D. Pics will be coming soon, but I am at work. So what better things do I have to do at "work" then to be on TB, right? I want a MTD member number, too.

Hmmm... now what makes you say that.... :ninja:

Thing is, it was a "fair fight". I set up his Roscoe and even swapped out the preamp for him and he said it never played or sounded better, but he still dug the MTDs and Skjolds better, so IT'S NOT MY FAULT! ...except potentially for the exposure to the other basses anyway... :)

Hi all,

I'm waiting for my new MTD 535-24, and have to choose the color...

That's just impossible to choose... :help::help::help:

So I give you a photo of the top. That's a myrtle burl top on ash body. The fingerboard will be hondurian rosewood.

I don't like "cold" colors like blue/green. So the possibilities I see are :

- natural
- dark cherry sunburst (Mike Tobias' favorite)
- tortoise shell sunburst
- maybe dark amber sunburst (very similar as tortoise shell)
- other ? (ice tea, honey...)

Do you think the natural will be good ? Cause the myrtle is yellow-green...

If you've another idea, just say !

The only thing that I'm sure is that this bass'll be beautiful with any color... ;)
