Well, just cos I havent posted them in this continuation, here are a few photos of my baby. I have been a bit slow because I am just finishing up my holiday and Peru and should be back ina LOndon in a few days. Anyway here is my baby (which I Havent seen in about 3 weeks argh!)

Yip, Vic is a winner. That's better than a wiener. I remember Mike T describing it as two hands cupped to pray about the bridge and neck pickup and it didn't hit me until after I studied the pic for awhile.

Hey guys, I've gone through my second set of MTD strings now on my 635, and I have one observation. Have any of you noticed that the "E" string seems to go dead faster than the rest? I'm sitting here actually practicing (gasp! imagine that! ) and I've had this set on about 3 weeks now, and the slap tone on the E string is terrible! Dead and lifeless! Slap isn't what I'm exactly working on, but I've run through a few slap licks to break up the monotony of what I'm trying to learn and it just sounds dead. Mind you, this is playing through my Cafe Walter HA-1A, and that little thing can be pretty unforgiving, but the "E" string sounds absolutely terrible when slapped. The A through C strings slap and pluck fine and still sound relatively fresh. The low B sounds like it is, a low B being slapped. But this E string, ugh...

Yeah that's true I've also noticed the same. The E string go dead faster. Too bad...

I use MTD stainless steels on my 535 and have never had a problem with the E string going dead quicker.

I'm specifically talking about the SS MTD strings on my MTD 635. This is the second pack I've had on there consecutively, and for a second time, the E string seems to have gone dead on me well ahead of the rest of the strings. Maybe it is just me if it isn't happening to you guys.

Maybe the acid in your skin reacts particularly strongly to the E on MTD 6 string sets?
You could try adding more vitamin E to your diet to correct that....

On my side I'm talking about MTD stainless set set on my MTD Heir 5.

It's true that I probaly spend a lot of time on the E-string. There's a lot of money notes on this one!

Maybe you play the E string a lot.

On mine the A string actually would be the string that goes dead the quickest. Lots of notes played there for me...at least it looks the dirtiest when I get done with a set.

I'm using DR Black Beauties on my 535 and my D string goes dead quicker.

Beautiful bass.

There's something different about the top...shape of the truss rod cover maybe?? It's something but I can't put my finger on it. Anyone else??
