The Official MTD USA Thread

I have been trying to work in some octave and synth. All I get are these weird harmonics and echo effects, and zero fuzz and crunch from any overdrive or fuzz pedals. Mean while with a passive bass they sounds great.
Are you using the Super pickup/pre or the standard package? FWIW, my passive P and active Tobias both hit harder than my MTD and I've had to adjust the preamp gain to provide more output. Have you had a chance to play with that?

I'm running the traditional 535 and 635 pickups in mine. I wasn't a fan of the super pickups. I tried them in the super position and standard position, each twice and just didn't do it for me.

I'm reopening this, and requesting that the discussion move on from an apparent fraudulent sale issue that occurred not on TalkBass, and was (as far as I can tell) closed before money exchanged hands. I can't confirm any wrongdoing took place, and if it did, it's inconsistent with the member's feedback here.

Back to the MTDs that you all own or want to own. Please don't go back "there." At this point, it could be interpreted as disrespect or trolling. Thank you.

Any experience with how the pope tracks with octave and fuzz effects.
No experience with octave effects; but should be great.

I use the CAL Grizzly for fuzz/distortion, when I want that, and the Pope is extremely well behaved for that pedal. OTOH, my Fairfield Barbershop gets overloaded. The Pope has a huge clear voice. Very transparent and powerful. Really brings out the best of Mike’s luthiery skills and choices.

Is there a passive tone control on the Pope?
