Does anyone have any decent sound clips or vids of the supers? 4,5 or 6? I've seen lots of pictures but there's barely any audio of them. I know there's a lot of bubby playing his but it doesn't show the capabilities of all the switching. I would love to hear more of them.

I don’t have all of my three 535s here to check but on my main 535 the neck pickup is only slightly lower than the bridge pickup (by less than a millimetre). I don’t know if that’s optimal but it works for me.

Edit. Apparently I can’t tell the difference between a millimetre and a centimetre. I meant 6mm. Time for some coffee.

I should preface this by saying that I haven’t set my bass up in a long time so it might be due. Nevertheless, I like the action fine where it is. Neck pickup is 0.6mm from the B string (non-depressed). Bridge pickup is at around 0.55mm from the B string.

I have come to the conclusion that this bass is just too heavy for me and am seriously considering letting it go....only to let someone else enjoy a superb 6er. I don't have to let it go but I would so that it could be played more.

What is the weight? Just asking cause I'm curious. I remember my old 635 fondly, but moved back to 5's when I realized I wasn't taking full advantage of a 6 for most of the situations I played in.

Yeah, that’s a gorgeous bass but I’m with you on the weight. Anything over 9.5 is going to be too much for me to be comfortable gigging with. Not an unusual weight for a six though and I’m sure it will make someone very happy.

It IS a gorgeous MTD. I have found that the six is just not for me. I know this one is not in the same beauty category and is a short scale, but it has a well defined and thunderous B, plays like a dream, and weighs just 8 lbs. Somewhat reluctantly, I'm getting ready to list it.
