For anybody interested in hearing what a 1212R sounds like here you go....

Its a rough quality recording for sure. I'm playing a P bass with Labella Flats and 1/4 pounder pickups.

The amp is Shuttle 6.0 EQ'd to taste. These amps require a boost of the bass so I put the bass at 2:30. I boost the bass with my UL115 too, so its the amp, not the cab.

This is my first post. Right now I am using a SWR SM-900 with a 410R and a 1212R, but I just don't get quite the volume that I thought I would. The tone is killer, but I feel a little underpowered. I am in the process of swapping the 1212 with a 412L, but am questioning the best amp to drive this combo. Any thoughts ? Considering a Thunderfunk TB750 or an Ampeg SVT8Pro.

It seems like most Schroeder users use a the Mark Bass LittleMark/F1 instead of the Genz Benz shuttle. Is this personal preference, or does the MB stuff sound better with the Schroeder stuff. Also can anyone compare how these amps sound with the R and L series.

I'm using the 6.0 Shuttle with two Mini 12+R cabs. I leave the bass boost on and cut the mids a bit. Thats it. It sounds great to me. I haven't had a chance to directly compare it to a LMII though. I had one that I was using with an Epi UL-310S2. That rig sounded great too, but it didn't have the punch that my new rig does.

My first choice for a schroeder medium sized cab would be the LMII. Its louder and fuller sounding without EQ.

Hah. I like your tone better than mine! How do you have your LMII EQ'd?

Cheers.

EQ was flat with the two filters both on slightly. I think the VLE was on about 9 o'clock and the other around 8.
I had come straight from the shop with the LMII. Never played one before. They lent to to me while i was waiting for my SA450 to come in.

The reason it sounds so full is because the mic was on a table on the small stage, behind us so it picked the room up as well as the cab. Worked out ok and you can tell there is quite a bit of low end out in the room.
Just using my HW1 Jazz.

Groovy stuff Dave. Makes me want to try playing with rounds for a change.

Hi all!

I ordered a 410L from Jorg a week ago... He's just dropped me a mail to say it's being shipped on Monday. Fantastic!

It'll have the new Celestion Neos in, and the newer tweeter, neither of which I have on my current 21012L.. I can't wait for it to arrive.

Oh, I forgot to mention. My cab is a little different... here's a sneaky peek. :D

Nice.
My 1212L has the new Celestion's and tweeter as well.
They sound nice and warm.

Was this cab modded to your spec?

Just wanted to publicly say a big thanks to Jorg and Shaun at SHX music for getting my 1212L sorted so quickly.
I got a new driver within three days of notifying them of my faulty one last sunday and can report that the cab sounds brilliant now.
Had a gig last night, played many times before with my UL212. High and very hollow wooden stage. Normally a nightmare. Ive always found that the UL212 would sound soft and boomy at this gig but last night i was so loud i almost couldn't hear the drums on stage but out front the the bass was sitting perfectly in the mix and i only had the master on 9 o'clock and all EQ flat on my SA450.
I found the sound to be very punchy, more so than my 1210R and the tweeter was on about half. Playing my Lakland DD just felt "right" last night.
Ive been trying to play finger style for ages and started to get ok with it but you know when you cant really get in to a gig and so revert back to what's easiest. Ive had months of that just recently. Well last night i play 99% finger style and the sound was really tight and no break up on the low E and F.

I can see that my GAS has now been completely expelled.

Nice!

WoT, FWIW I recently got my 610L with the new Celestion Neos in it, and it sounds fantastic. You will be very happy with that cab, I'm sure.
