My mustang player 2 with sadowsky bridge and a jazz bass type roasted maple neck. Also got the tuners off the sadowsky too. The stock pick ups sound great. So other than some shielding. I think its done.

Glamour shot from the studio a few weeks ago

97 MIA jazz that i refinished in lake placing blue metallic and added Seymour Duncan antiquity IIs and badass II bridge. Recently replaced the lusithand NFP preamp i installed with and obsidianwire passing e harness .

2024 parts bass i painted and built. Almost all fender parts bar aftermarket body and lollar pickups. Schaller tuners.

These are what fit on the rack and upright stands. I think I’m missing two in the pic - my 24” Fingy/Mihado that lives on the couch and the bass of the moment that is on the stand next to my amp - which is at the moment,my Sago 6 SC.

From what I've heard the pickup sounds decent, but I would have to get one and decide if it's to my liking.

It took me a little while, but I finally got one. It was a B Stock from Sweetwater and just over $200 off the regular price.

The issue, warped pickguard and the plastics peeler off. I used a heat gun to heat the pickguard, then placed it under some books on a flat surface for a few minutes while it cooled. Finally about 5 to 10 minutes of detail sanding and it fits and is flat.

As for the pickup, once I put my strings (GHS Round Core Bass Boomers .045'-.105") and she sounds just as I wanted.



With the Sweetwater setup, they are just as the series name implies, they just a good, no frills player.

My two go-to’s. It’s funny what finding the right P and J will do to GAS. The P is my MJT maple cap build with a real pre cbs 1958 pickup, and the J is a 1965. I have another MJT J and a squier PJ as well. The MJT P and 65 suit me so well that honestly I just don’t get excited as about gear as I used to. I used to see any ole pre cbs P bass and think “I gotta have it!”. Now, the only thing that really grabs my attention are cool imports at good prices. Epiphone 64 Thunderbird, Squier Rascal HH, Hofners etc.

Sometimes I’ll see a listing on Reverb and will want the item, until I play my own musical instruments and go “wow, theyre perfect”.

But yeah, these 2 are my desert island basses, could play any one of the two for the rest of my life no problem.


I did just order a mxr bass synth though… lolol
