The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I think ibanez just forced their hand in that one. I'm putting a tone capsule and some nords into my EHB for a "budget ding"

your right. I think they may ramp up the speed on getting a headless to market. At least I hope.

I was about to say, the EHB stock can get you close for way less and then you can finish it off to your own spec with the money saved (I know, spoken like a tinkerer!).

yeah. I know.... it’s a good bass too but....

here’s mine. It just doesn’t compare to my Canadian Dingwalls.

I play my SR5xxv more than the EHB unfortunately. I love the multi scale but I have grown to despise the pickups in the ehb. I don't actually want that Dingwall natural tone, I just want growling nords.

In all the videos I heard I didn’t like the barts. The nordstrands are great!!!

The funny thing about Dingwalls is that, in my perception, they are all kind of pigeonholed into the same category as per the NG line. It doesn’t represent the brand as a whole, it’s just they’re most popular representation.
The D roc has got AMAZING tone. I don’t jive with the body and it’s possible I’ll never own one But tonally they are insane and quite different from the other production basses. Of the bouquet of Canadians I’ve owned they have varied it tone immensely.
I was actually gonna sell one of my 6 strings but found it was such a delicious and completely different tonal pallet then my fav that I just can’t. I love the variety of range it offers compared to its “successor”

that said.... price point. They are bloody expensive. I get why most aren’t willing to “invest” that kind of dough into a bass.

I love how they feel and play. Perhaps I’m like a 60 yr old guy who never breaks the speed limit but drive around in a lambo. I may not use it to it’s full potential but. I like it.
There 100% is a difference, I’ll just openly admit that it’s not a necessary difference to be worth it unless you just want it.

ibanez makes great stuff and the EHB is fantastic, and as mentioned a great modding platform.

and I’ve been really rambling this afternoon. Paperwork day at the PC isn’t the most productive for me.

I watched one video. Didn't find it illuminating in the slightest. I think the lobster thing is a cool little device but as far as reviewing a bass I've seen better.

Maybe he owns those basses, maybe only some of them. Eventually, if his subscriber count gets high enough he might get basses specifically to get reviewed. At that point, he's dropping basses in here for what reason...?

I'm sure there are some who want the ultra expensive stuff looked at but he's showing us stuff that most of us could actually afford. I've played nothing but 300-500 dollar stuff for 10 years. Not until this past year my hard work has allowed me to spend significantly more on gear and pretty much everything he's shown is within my and many current budget. I would have to sell or trade for some of them but it's still obtainable.
I'm glad he's taking his time aside from his career to inform, entertain, and communicate with us.

I can't think of a more appropriate place for him to show off his collection than the... "show your basses" thread.

Regardless of how long he's been on, how many times he's posted, the price of his examples, whether or not you like his videos, or even that he has claws, "I can't think of a more appropriate place for him to show off his collection than the... '"show your basses" thread." sums it up perfectly.

And if one doesn't like what someone else is posting, they are free to do posts of their own.
Reminded of the old iconic radio station KSAN's news broadcasts where Scoop Nisker would sign off "And remember, if you don't like the news, go out and make some of your own".

And we are all WAY off topic here now. Someone show us a bass! :)
