Aaahhh. My ears are ringing. I must not be a good club member, as I haven't checked this thread all week.

Yes, I now have THE Skjold Custom!! I've had it for a few months now. Bought it from Gruuv.

Would I sell it?? Hmmm. That's a tough one. I may have to sell some gear to fund my LP, but this one?!?!? I have been playing alot more 4 string, and my LP will be a 5er. That will cover alot of ground...but, dayyyuumm, sell the Custom 5???

I do have a child on the way, so, I'm open to your thoughts.

Maple Burl J5 over Ash there's a surprise coming on this one that going to make your eye's pop.

I was at the shop on Sunday when Juneau was there. After Pete showed me my body we just sat there and talked while Pete was matching and cutting out pieces for the headstock and heal overlays.

While I was there I happen to see about a 2 inch cubed piece that had came off my body. It was pretty recognizable as it came from the center of the body blank that had the flame maple stripes showing. Now I have a neat paper weight for the office!

Got off the phone with Pete a couple of days ago, he said laser work on my inlays turned out really good....

When I say the pics today (thanks Dave), the quality exceeded my expectations, especially the detail on the 24th fret inlay!

I don't know about any of the rest of you, but I am SERIOUSLY GAS'ING!! As we wait for our Skjolds, I am considering liquidating another bass, just to have a fresh sound in-house - or to try and get something closer to a Skjold.

I know Pete is doing what he can...but I am ready for my bass!


Am I alone on this one?
