Okay; I'm VERY behind in things, but I tried to search this thread for this but didn't come up with anything. I was out on Youtube and found some stuff about a 25th anniversary concert for Warwick and was wondering if anyone knew about DVDs or CDs of that concert that may have been put out by Warwick, or someone.

Here's my '96 Warwick Corvette Standard 5 with some modifications done by previous owner, like Bartolini pickups, Aguilar OBP-3 preamp and few additional control knobs (separate vols for both pickups, bass, mid, treble and a switch for 400 MHz / 800 MHz mid peak).

My afzelia fretless Corvette.

I hope you don't mind bassitude!, but I love this bass so much I'm ordering an Afzelia Corvette tomorrow! I've been wanting a fretless Corvette to go with my Bubinga fretted for a while, and yours has just inspired me

(I'm serious! )

My only decision is whether to stay with the black headstock, or get a matching Afzelia veneer on the headstock......

Decisions!



EDIT: ....hhmmmmm Grrrr! On second thoughts - I do love Bubinga too! Gad this is tough!

if i were into the corvette body style, that afzelia would really do it for me...that lined grain looks really great, which is pretty uncharacteristic of afzelia...

has anyone seen this guy on youtube? great metal bass player...he even does the best cliff burton impersonation i've seen with an old ric copy bass of anesthesia

The question I need to ask myself is would I be disapointed if the Afzelia body I got had no such lines, and was very plain. I'm not sure - I like the colour very much, and from what I can tell it's a nice dense, hard, and heavy timber so it should balance similarly to my Bubunga Corvette which I love....

Cool man! How did you order the pickups/preamp? If you went through the Custom Shop you can order it with Bartolini's and passive like your current Corvette. That's a real short build time!

Yeah - it's a Custom Shop job I've ordered it passive (I'm really not an active bass kinda guy ) and just with the MEC Dynamic Correction J's.

I remember liking those pups quite alot on one of my old Rockbass Corvettes - and I'm interested in seeing what they sound like in a German Corvette. In my opinion they often get swapped out too quickly.

The one thing I don't like about them is they're single coils (good), but not reverse wound (bad), so they don't cancel hum like a traditional J single coil.

I'll see what the noise level is like before and after shielding the pup cavities and star grounding the bass. If I need to I'll drop some Barts in at a later date to match my Bubinga 'Vette.
