Well, a Thumb bass will most certainly KILL in a rock setting, but you can't really go wrong with either. Try a $$, it's very versitle and the thick sound of the humbuckers would be great for rock too.
What is it exactly do you dislike about the Taranis?
Isn't it just like a Passive FNA Streamer?
Many people say the Corvette is a Slappers dream, so I'm assuming that the bass is for funk, not Metal.
Please tell me I'm wrong.
Sorry for the never ending questions and thanks for the replies.

i used my corvette FNA in a hardcore metal band and it was AWESOME!

I thought you arn't a fan.![]()
OOH, you meant the Tanaris!![]()
So what made you go for the FNA Jazzman instead of the Thumb BO? (Considering they are the same price and all.)
And what is it about the Tanaris that you hate?
What I like about it is that it looks like a FNA Jazzman but with grains![]()
It's not that I necessarily dislike the Taranis, I just thought that they could have put their energies into something else. I mean, it's a poor man's FNA Jazzman. The Jazzman can be found used for what I'm sure would be less than they're planning to demand for a
new Taranis.
The Corvette is in fact great for slapping, but it's great for just about anything!
It's only drawback is it's limited onboard electronics. But if you're amp's EQ is versitile, it doesn't really matter.
And don't worry about asking questions, how else are you gonna find out right? Ask away, it's what we're here for.![]()
well, i wanted a thumb nt and the corvette and funds would only allow one! im currently savin for a nt thumb![]()
It is all about the training and preparation, Sir!I thought this was going to be thread about using Warwicks to club people, but then I realise that they're probably too heavy for practical use as a weapon![]()
I asked before and I'll ask again. What's the difference between the NT and the BO Thumb.
From what I recall what I read in TB, the BO has a more aggressive tone and the NT has a more "smoother" tone.
And others say that the NT has more balls then the BO.
So I'm asking again. BO or NT for Metal or any aggressive genres for that matter.
BTW ,you use a pick?
I just feel that a bass shouldn't be restricted to whether it should be play with a pick or with fingers. And it seems to me that Warwick is a "Fingerstyle" bass.
It's kinda true in a way being made with sweet looking woods and all but yea...
BTW, anybody know the prices of the sweet Axes at the Warwick custom gallery?
Very expensive it seems, a friend of mine was looking to order a Vampyre 5 string with piezos installed in the horns (kind of like Michael Manring has in the Hyperbass). The quote came back at something ridiculous, I do believe it was over £3000!
