I notice that Warwick hasn't included the new basses in their "specs" sheet yet. any guesses as to how much the NT Corvette will weigh? I'm thinking it will be a back-breaker. the NT thumb weighs considerably more than the BO Corvette (at least according to Warwick), and the NT Corvette has a larger body than the NT Thumb...

Anyone seen one of these beasts or tried one?

On the german website, they claim 4.6 kg for the 4 strings, 4.9 kg for the 5 strings.

That's about 9 to 10 pounds.

THe Ash is about two pound less.

Also, they use a different set of pickups. Comes with a flightcase for UK / Germany residents.

There was the Namm showpiece on sale on ebay not too long ago. Think it was $1800.

Well, a Thumb bass will most certainly KILL in a rock setting, but you can't really go wrong with either. Try a $$, it's very versitle and the thick sound of the humbuckers would be great for rock too.

What is it exactly do you dislike about the Taranis?
Isn't it just like a Passive FNA Streamer?

Many people say the Corvette is a Slappers dream, so I'm assuming that the bass is for funk, not Metal.
Please tell me I'm wrong.

Sorry for the never ending questions and thanks for the replies.

It's not that I necessarily dislike the Taranis, I just thought that they could have put their energies into something else. I mean, it's a poor man's FNA Jazzman. The Jazzman can be found used for what I'm sure would be less than they're planning to demand for a new Taranis. The Corvette is in fact great for slapping, but it's great for just about anything! It's only drawback is it's limited onboard electronics. But if you're amp's EQ is versitile, it doesn't really matter. And don't worry about asking questions, how else are you gonna find out right? Ask away, it's what we're here for.;)

I thought you arn't a fan. :eyebrow:

OOH, you meant the Tanaris! :p

So what made you go for the FNA Jazzman instead of the Thumb BO? (Considering they are the same price and all.)

And what is it about the Tanaris that you hate?
What I like about it is that it looks like a FNA Jazzman but with grains :hyper:

well, i wanted a thumb nt and the corvette and funds would only allow one! im currently savin for a nt thumb :P

with the taranis i dont like grain in it! and i'm not a fan of the tuning, not a big thing but im just not really a fan. dont get me wrong i wouldnt say no to one! i just wouldnt buy one :P

Word. But the FNA Jazzman will look SUPER  with chrome hardware on a Nirvana Black one. Or black hardware on a green one.

Elaborate. I mean it has four knobs (I'm assuming 3 band eq) and () TWO mini-toggles! :p

Thanks.
I just feel that I don't deserve the privilege to ask questions being gearless and all.

I asked before and I'll ask again. What's the difference between the NT and the BO Thumb.

From what I recall what I read in TB, the BO has a more aggressive tone and the NT has a more "smoother" tone.
And others say that the NT has more balls then the BO.

So I'm asking again. BO or NT for Metal or any aggressive genres for that matter.

BTW ,you use a pick?
I just feel that a bass shouldn't be restricted to whether it should be play with a pick or with fingers. And it seems to me that Warwick is a "Fingerstyle" bass.
It's kinda true in a way being made with sweet looking woods and all but yea...

I thought this was going to be thread about using Warwicks to club people, but then I realise that they're probably too heavy for practical use as a weapon :hiding:
It is all about the training and preparation, Sir!
I practice clubbing people with my '77 Gibson RD Artists, afterward swinging a warwick around is light work. I do so hate the grating sound some people's teeth make when smacked with those two piece bridges.
All survivors proudly wear the sacred W bruised opon their heads.

i played a bo and then a nt straight after it in the shop and for me the nt really stood out as having a much warmer fuller sound. i would have considered a bo until i played them both.

and i dont use a pick no, not because i play warwick though just because i dont like them lol. there is a local metal band who are doing pretty well for themselves and their bassplayer has got a warwick sponsership, i think he's playing $$ vette's at the min, but he uses a pick, nothing wrong with it.
