To many commercials, but that's what you get on network TV I guess.
I just checked the stats. Network TV has an average of almost 16 minutes of commercials per hour.

I guess I just expected more.
So you've never watch any "Star Trek" ever, I take it? (I can list the episodes of every series from the Original series through Enterprise. Movies, as well)Third episode already getting into SJW preaching.
I'll still give it a chance, but if it continues, I am out.

Other then watching the original Kirk stuff as a kid (when I had no say over what I watched) Nope, no interest.
I predict a report back that recinds the thanks.OK, you guys have complained about it long enough that now I have to watch an episode or two. Thanks for that...
I've watched two episodes. I like it.I predict a report back that recinds the thanks.
Episode 5 or 6: someone invents transporting technology. Ginger pilot is involved in "The Fly" -type accident. Hilarity ensues.I wonder why they don't have transporter technology. Everything else seems to be TNG level tech but no transporters. It's odd.
I never had an interest in TOS but I did watch TNG regularly until I got bored with it in the last 2 seasons.
Recently I've been watching episodes of TOS and I have the perspective of a first time viewer. Im sorry, but Im very unimpressed. Maybe this was fantastic stuff in 1969, but I think it's utter garbage by today's standards.
One thing that stands out to me is how many TNG episodes have stolen plotlines from TOS.
Remember, this stuff is 60 years old - of course it is going to seem pretty tame by modern standards. It also was done with a limited budget, even for its time. Trek was pretty progressive for its time:
- first inter-racial kiss on TV,
- minority female in a leading role, and other minority characters
The very fact that TOS plotlines were taken for later series should tell you something.
Compare the effects on the original Godzilla to any film today.
Yes but Picard's response made the episode. He fell in love with her. And I think she did too. She was designed for that purpose but they really fell for each other and both had to live with that for the sake of duty. Kirk was never that deep or interesting.I never had an interest in TOS but I did watch TNG regularly until I got bored with it in the last 2 seasons.

One thing that stands out to me is how many TNG episodes have stolen plotlines from TOS. There is an episode where Picard falls in love with a woman who is intended to be an arranged bride for the purpose of uniting two warring factions. She then falls for him but of course, his duty is to his ship so he sends her off to wed some guy who doesn't even care about her. The end. It's almost identical to a TOS plot.
