The Pedulla Club!

Hey fellow Pedullians - late last night/early morning, my German Sheppard became very sick and this morning we had to rush him to the vet hospital to find out that his stomach had flipped - we were told that we either get the surgery immediately, or your dog is going to die, and no guarantee that the surgery could save him (possibly his internal organs beyond the twisted stomach could have died from the lack of blood flow. The surgery ran me $5k, and I would spend double that my best friend... and we got the phone call earlier this morning, and thankfully he's going to survive (the surgery was a sucess and no permanent damage to his other organs) - there is an obstruction in his esophagus that they are currently looking at, but its one hurdle at a time...
So, I'll need to pay off the bill, and I will be selling off some of Pedulla's in the classified section over the next couple of weeks and was hoping to stir up some interest from other Pedulla players.
thanks,
Jon

Up !

Is there a thunderbass owner who could compare his electronic wiring to my diagram to see what is good or not ?

It takes only a few minutes and would be a great help for me !

OK... the wiring of your Balance pot & mine appear to be inverted relative to each other, but your "?" wire should go to the same (center) terminal of the Balance pot as the wire from your neck pickup. On my preamp module, the black wire goes to the Volume pot and the 2 red wires go to the center terminals on the Balance pot.

Best wishes for happy (& balanced) playing! :bassist:

Hi Envincibal.
I just bought a used Pedulla - Too bad I didn't wait another week to see what you are going to put up for sale.
Good luck with your dog and the sale of your basses. I know how it is when a pet becomes loved as a memeber of the family. A year and a half ago I spent over a thousand dollars to try to save a beloved cat of ours. Unfortunately she didn't come out of the surgery to well and died a few days later. Some people said that I was crazy to spend that much money on a cat , but she was a member of the family for over ten years and we loved her very much. I wish you the best.

Hey Pedulla-Player - luck changed for the worse for my dog (and mine and my wife's hearts are broken); today my wife and I had to make a very difficult decision to have him put down; the expenses have exceeded 8k, and if you would have seen our dear friend, your heart would have broke - we didn't want him to suffer any more, not with the chances of survival at slim to none.

I would never think its crazy to spend money on trying to save or extend the life of loved one (hey, if spending $4k on a bass isn't crazy... or at least to some)

I haven't been on TB pretty much all week and hope to have my senses back together by next week and see what I can sell.
Thanks,
Jon

So sorry to hear about your loss.

I'm deeply sorry to hear about your loss! You have my condolences! Two years ago I had to put my favorite cat (Zoey) down because she had mouth cancer and it got to the point where she was suffering and we couldn't stand to see her suffer like that. The unfortunate thing was it was on my daughters first birthday. I would have liked to wait another day , but when she turned for the worse it happened fast that we couldn't wait any longer. I wish you and your family the best. I still miss Zoey dearly and it was almost two years ago. It was a different cat (Sierra) that I spent the $1000 on - I would have spent way more than that on Zoey if there was something that they could have done for her - unfortunately there wasn't. :rollno:
Take care!
Craig (Pedulla-Player)

My condolences. I feel your pain, very acutely, in fact. We had to put down our 18-year old dog, Gibson, yesterday. He's been my best buddy, and this was a heck of an emotional blow, even though rationally, this was the right thing to do. And I also feel you on the dollar front. Gibson had a major, several thousand dollar surgery two years ago, and we've been going through several hundred dollars worth of pills and vet bills every month since then. But of those two years, most of the time was fairly good for Gibson (some of it was great), and I view it as a more than worthwhile investment.

Once again, you have my sympathies.

Take care, Tom.

Just want to say thanks to all my Pedulla brothers (and animal lovers here) - I don't want to go off topic and turn this into a therapy session, but didn't want to at least say thanks.
Hopefully the sun will be shinning here in Philly and I can take some photos of my Pedullas... I'll should be posting my Cocabola T-bolt (5-string) later that afternoon (my Zebrawood Thunderbass will probably follow).
Jon

My prayers of Peace go out to both of you with the thought that memories don't go away (until you get to my age).

Post up those photos soon! I just got the new Taylor Guitars quarterly that has a gorgeous Cocobolo LTD Model featured. That is some beautiful wood! May the Son shine down on you always!

I believe the stock humcancelling Barts are wired in parallel, maybe you could try them in series? Or if you go for single coils put in a parallel/series switch. IME the hot, cutting tone of a P bass comes from the series wiring.

I have a Rapture J-2000-5 and a Rapture 4 with the single humbucker wired in series. The 4 is quite a bit more aggressive though it's not grindy like a MusicMan or Spector.

Hi folks,

I finally joined the Pedulla club! Picked up this tasty Pentabuzz, #3764, from a guy not far from Sydney, a few weeks back. She's in pretty good condition for 19 years old, only has a few small marks and dents. Just done a setup and she's playing very nicely, but I might try out some flats or GHS Pressure-wounds soon, to get a bit more smoothness to the voice.

I have a question - would upgrading to the NTMB circuit make that much difference to the punch and clarity of the bass? The old circuit is working fine, but it would be nice to have a mid-control and the treble boost is a touch noisy for my liking.

Cheers,

Justin
