Well, I just paid for mine tonight. It's a 4003 Maple Glow. I used to have one identical to it, got rid of it, and have regretted getting rid of it since. When it arrives (in about a week), I'll post some pics and join-up with you fine folks

This'll keep me going until my '07 shows up. Strung with DR Highbeams for that Dave Meros growl.
Next week it goes back for a bone nut and the Vintage Push/Pull bridge pickup tone pot.

does anyone here in the RIC club know of a guy who put up some clips of his rickenbacker in a jazz setting a long time ago? I've since lost the clip and have no idea who it was, but his tone was great - I believe he also posted a clip of him playing over "Silly Love Songs" in the same thread .... if anyone has those clips or know who it was, much obliged!

Can I play?

At long last, I am a proud Ric owner. I am thinking about installing the Hipshot bridge and doing the Push/Pull pot mod (this is a 2006). Any other common or suggested mods? Any reasons not to do either bridge or the P/P mod? I would keep the original bridge, of course.

Yeah, I called about this bass on Monday. The sales guy said it had already been bought. Oh well, I got one that cost a bit more, but it's in perfect shape. It'll be here tomorrow!

I would like to join the club

2005 4003 jetglo with a pickguardian cover for the bridge pickup.

Okay, I have a Hipshot (aluminum) on order, and I'll likely order the p/p pot mod tomorrow. I am somewhat torn on the pickguard, as I prefer the standard look, but I normally prefer to anchor over the neck pickup, and currently I am 'anchoring' on the top edge of the pickguard by the neck pickup. I know I should learn the 'floating' technique, but too many years of diggin' in on the doghouse has me a firm thumb anchor kinda guy.

Any other suggestions for useful and reversible mods?
