Do these GHS Progressive M8000 strings fit the monorail bridges? (Link Removed).
Questions are about the exposed wire on the ball end of the E string
1) Why do they leave the wire at the ball end unwound?
2) Why do some players order the fully wound E-string as a single to replace this one in the set?
3) Is the exposed wire supposed to sit on the saddle as shown, or are the bridges to short for these strings?

I find the sound interesting. Definitely intermediate to my ears--they back off the hi-mids and clackety attack compared to round wounds but still have a round wound sound with a good amount of overtones remaining. These are definitely worth trying if you are interested in a middle-ground sound string. With the exposed wire on the saddle, I found it took longer to break in the string--it needed more tuning than the other strings. Now that its broken in tuning stability is much better and it sounds fine to me.

I've heard good things about the Nordstrands that come in the 655E, but I know next to nothing about the BH2s in the 505E other than they're full on humbuckers. What are their tonal differences?

For reference, I use an SR500 with the Bart MK1s. I love those to death, but I wish they were a little brighter. I like the warmer sound of them as well. If I had to choose, I'd rather have the pickup set that could do a warm sound better than a brighter sound.

I've got a mild case of GAS with the new SR2400, and the SR500E with the surreal black dual fade finish. I think the SR2400 would look better with matte black hardware, and I don't see any models with MK1s anymore.

Hi everyone,

My SRMS805 has a slight crackle on the pickup blend pot, which it has had from new. has anyone else noticed this? I'm surprised that it did this ''out the box' and wondered if this is inherent to the preamp rather than a fault.

If it is a fault, how best to get a warranty replacement?. From the Soares list, the pot comesc on a premade harness, sosuts a drio-in fix that iI would do myself rather than ship my bass to a repair centre. I am in the UK BTW.

Beautiful bass!!! I fell in love with the SR's instantly.

Is this an MIJ, and what strings are those with turquois silk?
The ball colour code matches D'Addario, but the only D'Addario's with silk that I'm aware of are the Chromes which is a deep blue silk.
