Welcome to the club guys. Nice basses!
I think it's a top notch instrument, but I also think the SR500 is just as good in every way. They were both equal in comfort, playability, and fit/finish, in my personal opinion.
I have to respectfully disagree with Inger. The 500 has Bartolinis which many prefer over the Nords. They have much more growl and personality.
Well, first of all, the Barts used for the SRs are Korean made by Cort (MK-1). There's a difference.

Guess it still comes down to what you like. I didn't choose my bass because of where the Barts were made, I chose it because of the sound that particular bass produced. They had a pretty wide selection of Ibby's at my local GC and I was able to compare it to several models including some high end ones with the Nords and low end ones as well. It's just what I like and there's no harm in us having different opinions.![]()
I have heard of someone else having that problem on talkbass. Can't remember who but it was definitely this year.
EDIT: found it, here you go - http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f18/ibanez-prestige-being-detroyed-humidity-help-822730/
IngerAlb & PDGood - From what I've hear the MK-1s are actually pretty good, it's the preamp that's somewhat lacking.
Lol, I never said you did!I never said they suck![]()
THE DANiMAL said:So... Just realized the neck on my 3005 is thicker then the neck on my 1015. This is seriously the first time I've noticed. So I decided to compare it to my 905. The 905 feels A LOT thicker then the 3005. actually looked up the neck measurements and here's a comparison:
Width at nut
1015 - 45
3005 - 45
905 - 45
Width at last fret
1015 - 67
3005 - 67
905 - 67
Thickness at 1st
1015 - 20.5
3005 - 21.5
905 - 21.5
Thickness at 12th
1015 - 22
3005 - 23
905 - 23.5
Radius
1015 - 305
3005 - 305
905 - 305
Keep in mind, none of them are uncomfortable by any means, just different. but it's amazing what a half a millimeter can do at the 12th in terms of feel.
Mine's a 2007. It's NOT an SRT it's an SR. Mine is like the "daddy" of the SRT line. What yr is your 905 and where did u get yours
