Hello all. I have a new SR300 bass and would like to gather some recommendations for hard shell cases. I know the MB100C case by Ibanez would have the best fit for the bass, but it seems to have mixed reviews in regards to quality of the interior and hinges. Any thoughts on cases by Gator or SKB regarding their quality? What particular models by these manufacturers would fit my SR best? I appreciate your input!

In regard to cases, Honestly, I recommend the MB100Cs. The only thing better then those are the prestige cases when it comes to SRs. I haven't had any problems with mine at all. The only thing I dislike about the Prestige cases is that they're bigger and a lot heavier then the MB100Cs, but it's because they do offer more protection. I have noticed that my 1015 and 3005 have a little wiggle room in the standard cases, but nothing to worry about.

Uhm...like this: Invalid Link Removed ? :)

It's very light, easy to transport and takes less space to store than a normal gig bag. The downside: due to the shape it doesn't stay vertically by itself so you have to lean it against a wall or let is sit on the side; also the hinges are very flimsy.

BTBs also have a 35" scale instead of the 34" SR scale length.

Grooveline 5-strings have 18mm string spacing at the bridge.

The Ibanez EDA905 has 19mm spacing at the bridge, a 34" scale, and piezos in addition to the magnetic pickup. I've owned three of them... and may yet come to own another.

How did you finish the fretboard?

I see you "snuck in" a 5th knob. What preamp are you using?

Could be my GWB1's big brother.

Got my SR600 in today, and I'm pretty sure it's the first bass that I'll be attempting to do my own setup on. The previous owner apparently likes a high action, and I like it to be ridiculously low. Overall, I like the way it sounds, very similar to my SR755 (go figure). VERY lightweight, comfortable to play, I'm definitely looking forward to slapping some Swing 66's on it and bringing down the action :)
