The Squier Mini Precision Bass Club

I'm going to need to update the family photo with the mini.

Subject: Replacement pickguard for Squier Mini P Bass

Someone recently ordered a replacement pickguard for a Squier Mini P Bass. You now have a template for the bass.

What price can you now offer for other orders? There are a bunch of people, including me, interested in pickguards for this bass in a widely read TalkBass forum thread about this bass.

The last time I inquired, your quotes were far too expensive.

What price can you offer now, with that template? I will communicate it in the forum, and I will order 2 if the price is right.

I just wrote, as well, and asked for a quote on a white perloid. O.o We'll see what happens.

I'm not generally fond of black as a bass colour, but done up like yours is, I might make an exception.

The Power Blades look interesting too, for other basses as well.

I expect that they make them in more form factors than P, yes ?
~

Thank you Dave!
Yes they have those Nordstrand Blade pickups in a Jazz size, Music man size and a Soap Bar size also

Good to know, in case I ever buy one.

What is different about the HB pickup dimensions ?
~
The (discontinued) HB Shorty is a back routed "Bronco" body, it is not the same as the current HB PB-Shorty, which is a short scale P clone. I don't believe many made it to Canada, so I really don't think you'll run into one. Once Pfeffernuss wakes up, I'll grab it and measure.

Ah, I see.

So their current model is standard-compliant.

OT :

Not to cause any unrest with your family, but I ate 9 glazed Pfeffernuss this morning with my coffee.

That's 3 suggested portions, or half of the 200 gram package.

They were from last Xmas' imported seasonal goodies at our local WalMart, and the brand was Weiss.

They keep very well during the whole year, that is, if I can forget that I have them stashed away for enough of that period.

I didn't measure, but laid one of the Tonerider covers against the Shorty pickups. The covers on the Shorty are about 0.5mm wider and longer than "Standard", and the lugs are further apart. They're a hair bigger than "Standard" on the Shorty, which is counterintuitive.

I can't say for sure, but I believe the PB Shorty has "Standard" size pickups.

FYI: WDCustomPickguards will send you four samples you're interested in. I requested snakeskin, black pearl, black abalone & white pearl. I went with the black pearl, as I already have two basses with white pearl pickguards.

I like the look of the white pearl. It looks classy against the red. Since I have red pearl inlay stickers, I was thinking of going white pearl on mine.

Which brings up a question: what's the difference between pearl and pearloid? (perloid?)

Attention passengers - there is no longer any stock of this fun bass at the Fender shop website.

it would never occur to me to buy at fender.

i bought mine at musicians friend, got a discount by contacting a rep and got 8% back in MF reward points (you have to sign up fot this) which just went toward my husband's guitar looper.

MF and GC still have them in stock in red, black is on backorder. sweetwater has them in stock. sam ash is out of them. can't find listings for the mini P at AMS or zzounds. amazon u.s. has 1 red in stock and 1 in black; some of their marketplace sellers have them. thomann has them. thomann u.s. has both colors.
