The Squier Mini Precision Bass Club

I like the look of the white pearl. It looks classy against the red. Since I have red pearl inlay stickers, I was thinking of going white pearl on mine.

Which brings up a question: what's the difference between pearl and pearloid? (perloid?)
Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that pearloid is used to describe a synthetic material that emulates the look of pearl.

I resprayed the body as I didn't care for the yellow. This is so much better now to me. Looks like I'll be done with it in a month or so...

According to the Long and Mcquade website here in Canada, they are out of stock until a projected date of Jan. 11/2021!

The early Xmas shoppers have struck !

CBC news said that there has been advice from major retailers and Canada Post last week that folks should start now, anticipating an unpredictable degree of overload of seasonal packages, compounded by increased regular demand due to Covid.

I expect the same to be true in the US.

it would never occur to me to buy at fender.

i bought mine at musicians friend, got a discount by contacting a rep and got 8% back in MF reward points (you have to sign up fot this) which just went toward my husband's guitar looper.

MF and GC still have them in stock in red, black is on backorder. sweetwater has them in stock. sam ash is out of them. can't find listings for the mini P at AMS or zzounds. amazon u.s. has 1 red in stock and 1 in black; some of their marketplace sellers have them. thomann has them. thomann u.s. has both colors.

I always order from Fender. I'm a member of their Fender Play deal. I'm on there for guitar lessons. You also get 10% off anything. Shipping is usually very quick. The customer service is very good also. I ordered a Fender LT25. There was a problem with shipping that went on for a month. The CS rep refunded my money and told me if the amp showed up, to enjoy it with their compliments. It showed up the next week. I've never had a problem since.

I just wrote, as well, and asked for a quote on a white perloid. o_O We'll see what happens.
I heard back...

Hey Volker,

Thank you for reaching out to us for your custom pickguard needs! We can definitely do that for you, every pickguard is hand-made so we would just need you to go through some steps for your pickguard to be made. You will just need to specify exactly what you want on your custom order form. Custom pickguards range from $40 - $150 and is dependent on Make/Model/Material. Since you’re wanting #28(White Pearl), it will most likely be in the mid to high price range of that spectrum.

Due to variations in pickguard models by the manufacturer, a paper tracing OR your actual pickguard will be required to give you a quote on your custom guard. The following link will give you step-by-step instructions on how to go about customizing your pickguard and the mail-in instructions: Invalid Link Removed . Please include your name, email/daytime telephone number, and the tracing material choice on the tracing along with the completed custom order sheet: Invalid Link Removed After we receive your tracing or pickguard in-person, we will be able to accurately quote your custom pickguard. We will send a PayPal request or you can call with a Credit Card to complete payment once you receive your quote.

Which means I'm out. I'm churchmouse poor. I'm not going to pay €60-€120 (roughly) for a pickguard.

I'm now looking at "shelf liner" sheets that I can simply cut out and stick on. It's mainly a matter of finding a good pattern.

That’s what I did for mine and it turned out pretty nice. It seems like it’s going to be pretty durable as well.

Also I rough cut the sheet, stuck it on the pickguard, and used an xacto knife with a fresh blade to finish it.

Mayhaps a nice Scottish tartan ?

Actually, Canadian banknotes are rather colourful, and have been for many years now.

The last time I handled Deutschmark bills was in 1982, and I forget exactly how they looked, as well as where it is here that I have stashed away a few of them, along with samples of other European currencies from a trip that year, playing in a band on US military bases and associated clubs.

Ummm... You realize we (Germany) haven't used DM since 2002, right? We (EU) all use Euros now.

Euro banknotes are also very colourful, and the size varies with denomination.

Yes, I'm aware of the EU, but have not been there since it began.

So I reckon that this is one instance where size DOES matter ! :smug:

The folks with whom I played there back then have again visited several times during more recent years, but not necessarily to play.

And they are even older than ME ! :D
