I have a 4-string Streamline currently under construction, and before it gets here ( in a couple months!) I want to have a nice stand ready for it.

I have numerous very nice Hercules triple stands - but they do not work with headless :)

So I was wondering if any current (or former) Streamline owners could chip in and recommend 'the best stand for Streamline'.

I'm hoping for one of those A-frame typa stands, but a very STURDY one. I did a little scale mockup in Corel and it looks like the stand 'arms" would either have to be five or seven inches apart in order for the bass to be firmly seated.

I used to have a K&M years ago, was wondering if anybody here was using them for Streamline?

I used to own a Stealth I six string (and if Rob would or could still do the mk1 Stealth shape, I daresay I would order another some day). It was very light for it's size. I would wager that, compared to a hardwood body, a graphite shell will save a reasonable amount of weight.

I started with a Stealth I 6 string, later picked up a Matrix with singlecoils and finally settled on a Series II. I've also played other Series II and S2 models in the past. The Series II was my favourite. I found those Series II Anniversary models from a couple of years ago to be hugely appealing as they included all the things I loved about the Series II, like the cricket bat neck and brass hardware. I always found the Series II to be more aggressive than the later S2.

That said, I have always wanted a Mk1 Kingbass. I fancy that I will either buy one soon or make an order for one...

Hmm, that's a nice tip, thanks! Do you happen to know how wide apart the "arms" are fixed? (the Hercules website doesn't provide that dimension). I'm not sure how much different the Stealth and Streamline 'footprints' are, but that looks like a solid stand, for sure...

Sorry it's at our practice space - I'll get measurements and post later this week. It's roughly 7 inches or so. Bass sits properly on them and doesn't slide from side to side.

As the Streamline has two strap buttons, you don't strictly need a stand for it, as it will be balanced: actually it would probably be safer to just find a way to secure it to your amp with a cord or the like. In my experience, stands are easily tipped off (people drink heavily where I gig...).

It was not terribly difficult. When the instructions say "use a bigger drill bit than you would with wood", they mean it! The toughest part was getting the screws to cut in. Graphite necks like these are tough as hell.
But talk about a rewarding project! What a difference.

And yeah, I've only really looked at the small pics. That does look like white LEDs!

Admire your courage, I built up a really nice jazz that I really wanted to do a Status neck on but chickened out. Your post got me thinking again as much as I like the neck I found it has reacted to the season change more than I expected.

You can do it. I've done four of them using EZ-Lock stainless steel threaded inserts and matching stainless steel machine screws. Four 10-24 screws on my three Fender necks, and six 8-32 screws on my one Musicman neck.

Hope you guys don't mind a quick question. About to order a status neck, anyone have any experience using on a chambered body? Can't imagine there would be a negative tone issue but thought I'd ask. Thanks

I have a fretless neck on a chambered Warmoth body: no issues whatsoever (but it was tricky getting the wires to go where I wanted and not into the chambers :D )
