OK, I went my own way (as usual) after Mono said they did not recommend any of their bags for the streamline.
I ordered a Reunion Blues Continental traveller guitar bag after checking out the size some reviews etc.
It's about as close to perfect as I'll get without going custom I think.
Plenty of protection, reasonable storage and it looks really sturdy and well made.
I have a Mono Vertigo Bass bag and I'd say it is at least on par in every aspect (except the Mono boot).

Which specific model is this? Looking at their web site, there's nothing called a Continental Traveler, but there is a whole line of Continental Voyagers for different guitar formats.

It is in fact the Voyager electric guitar bag, thanks for spotting that mistake of mine, I can't edit that now for some reason??

Wow those are pricey, that looks like a better fit than my roadrunner but I could buy four roadrunners for the price of one of those. I actually wish I could find another one of these Ritter cases because it's perfect came with the bass.

I actually got it at a pretty fair price, certainly cheaper than the Mono.
That Roadrunner bag looks cool too, but, like many things, not available here in Oz.

Thanks for all the sharing on gig bag, I'm considering parting away with my Streamline and was thinking that indeed that original gig bag would be a poor protection if I ship it...will consider the option shared here

sorry for chiming in late on the gig bags. I have both the:
1) Reunion Blues RBCE1 RB Continental Voyager Electric Guitar Case
2) Mono M80 Electric Guitar Case (ed note: NOT the sleeve)

they both fit the streamline great. The M80 is more substantial and holds more stufff. The reunion blues case is a nice middle ground tradeoff between size and functionality.

FWIW my very first status was a streamline shipped from Japan in the original gig bag. Arrived fine and I still use it to this day.

Mine also came in the original Ritter guitar bag it came in, but it was pretty lacking as far as protection goes, literally none on top of headstock and not much better on the bottom.
I don't mind spending a bit for a new bag to look after this bass, I have a lot more confidence in this one.

Managed to get an incredible second-hand SG Chris Wolstenholme signature bass. As a huge Muse fan, this is a dream come true.

- Headless
- 5 string
- 19 mm spacing
- Tri-colour LEDs
- CW Custom EQ

I'm in no way saying that this bass is a Status but it has similarities for sure.

Does anyone own a chameleon or flip-flop finish Streamline? …like this

I'm interested to see how well it's holding up with use.

I have a warranty issue with the finish on mine (still under warranty) but no response on repair so considering a refinish similar to this.

Bought it new in 2002 but never been played due to been a 5 string guy.
I think it's a Stealth 4 but memory has faded!
It still has the original strings on it too

These colour shift finishes are normally zyrylic pearls added to the clear finish, that's why you can still see the graphite weave. The thing is, if the base finish has any flaws the pearls will just accentuate those and even potentially make them look worse. Not impossible, but also not an easy thing to predict the outcome.

My streamline is the basic graphite colour, I was just explaining how that colour shift is achieved.

Ah okay, I understand how the color shift is achieved. Per my original post, I'm looking for somebody who actually owns one with that color to see how durable it is. I've seen other painted versions that didn't look like they held up that well, that's the reason for my question.

Ok, I've seen some painted versions as you described, I think the paint is maybe a different process to the clear coat tho, sorry I can't help. That colour shift does look cool.
