The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

On an unrelated (but more on-topic) note, I decided to take a look at what's been selling and what hasn't in 2024 so far. I haven't made any solid decisions based on these metrics yet, but it's making me think about things.

It kind of makes sense. The smaller and less expensive pedals sell better. I could see someone hesitating on one of the larger pedals if they didn’t have prior experience with the brand.

Finally V1 - Tube Rolling/Trim Pot

Hello, Got my hands on a 12ATU7W (Tungsol) and swapped out the ECC83S that was in my Finally V1. Sounds really good and I think that I will keep using the new tube. While swapping out the tube I noticed a trim pot in the Finally. Can some one remind me what this is for? Does it control the output signal to the XLR and the 1/4 inch or just the 1/4 inch?
thanks Everyone!
Rick

Are these all fully built pedals or have you included the PCB sales as well, like the Bassdude and Nobelium etc?
This is for Sushi Box FX only and does not include the sales of Conspiracy to Commit Electronics as that is operated as a separate company.

I'm assuming this is by volume? Which gives a bit of insight into how many items you've sold this year generally.
I'm not surprised by the split, with the most commonly recommended pedals being the three single sized preamps, the more and the finally, I guess the larger format ones are slightly more niche and a bit less impulse buy like?
Correct, this is just by volume, purely numbers of units sold.

More is only at 8.5%? I thought it would be more.

Great pedal!
The numbers are skewed a little by the limited runs of Nobelium and Bassdude, More is still a fairly consistent performer.

The trimpot affects both the XLR and the 1/4", Finally v1 uses shared controls for both.

Any information of the eq setting on the sushi UA? I’m working on getting a more flat eq sound with the tuby breakup the Ua gives! I’ve been loving it. This thing adds so much character to the higher strings an the slight compression is Great. Super sensitive eq shockingly. So I’m really going for that flat hi fi sound. I plugged in to my studio monitor an loved the tone I got. Which I get that’s a wider frequency an all thag. It I’m wondering how to reallt dial in Ua. The darkglass tone cap in my Spector seems
To dip to low on bass almost 50hz so I think cutting the bass on my Spector almost to nothing and using the bass from my head a sushi to be bass.

UA uses a passive Fender stack. Flat is bass at 0, mids maxed at 10, treble at 0.

Thank you. I could hear noon was not obvi flat. I love this pedla for the price. Yes there are a lot more expensive pre amps. But man for really I suppse unless your recording live idk id much more is needed. I will say I’m sure the rack system are more quite an maybe more just EQn but I will say the UA an the tone it’s added combined with really solid Eq an sound of the genzler magellan heads it’s been a really good mix. As mentioned the darkglass pre on my Spector hits a little to low for my liking so I’m using more bass from the pedla but I wonder if I should have the bass come from the head an use the pedal boost treble and slight mids

the UA uses the traditional Fender tone stack, so flat is essentially bass and treble at zero, or full CCW, with mids wide open at full CW. There are a few adjustments to be made, but that would be your starting point.

okay thank you guys! So if I’m really going for a more flat Eqd sound “I need to try a boost my treble the onboard pre of my bass the darkglass tone cap doesn’t do treble very well. An I love the flat response but the darkglass colors it a little so I just want to get flat a then boost from there a see what happens.

Oops, three minutes late to the party…but now you know.

It all helps cause it’s a great pedla a for the price sshheeeww especially seeing all the prices of preamp pedal. I guess most are DI out so some are replacing cab heads but still the price of the Ua and what I’ve gotten just messing around so far has been really nice. I didn’t expect this nice a tone to come
Out of the pedal.

Any suggestion toward a tube I could use similar to 6L6 in guitsr amps or something have that more idk how to say rounder but bigger effect burpy even. Anyone swapped the tubes out an get a big diff?

Ordered a "More" pedal today. Will be using it with passive Fenders, a Precision with a FCS 62 P Pup, Precision PJ with Aguilar pups, and three Jazz basses either with a Mesa D-800+, or GK Goldline 500, or both.
Sorry I didn't see your email until now, but you timed your order just right. I finished a handful of More units today and you'll get the last one. Yours will ship tomorrow, leaving me once again with zero in stock.

Sweet! From you're email last night I wasn't expecting it that fast, but I'll take it. And since I have your attention, I do have a question to ask. Power supply...

On the website it states to use a 9-12VDC power supply capable of delivering at least 600mA.

I have a Voodoo Pedal Power 2 Plus on my board. The user manual for it states the following:
pedal power.jpg

So it has nothing even close to the recommended 600mA on your website

I went to Trutone's website and looked at specs for their One Spot, I have two of them, and they state 1700mA max output. So I take it I should use the One Spot for powering the More pedal instead of the Voodoo Pedal Power 2 Plus mounted underneath my board...

I’m using the voodoo power supply an getting fine results. Running it on 9.. But unless I’m
Missing something voodoo power plus 2 should be all good. Maybe let some more smarter minds that know sushi more then me chime in.. but I get the finally an more pedal mixed up sometimes an maybe I have the wrong pedal in mind I may learn something here myself but I thought I’ve seen most using Voodoos an others that have the same specs. Maybe a one spot would be more isolated a quite. I’ll be following to see

Is anyone else’s UA a little
Noisy with the hum if vol and gain are say noon. I mean I don’t take this is an always on pedal it’s not like it messes with my tone to much while playing. But I can see the tube is a little dark around the bottom
Of it. I would know if it was blown. I would think. But jw on if anyone else has issues? This could be related to the power supply question is why I’m curious as well.

Use the 1-spot for the More. 250mA is not sufficient.

could be 2 factors:
1: less buying power of general public in this economy

2. Some of what I’ve read on these pedals is hard to put into words, and it’s hard to find someone to demo it in several playing styles.

#1 has slowed me significantly…
