Someone can correct me if I’m wrong here, but isn’t the only difference between the Finally V2 and the V2 WBIM the tube choice, and the little F clef brain guy graphic?

Finally V2 has an Ax7
Finally V2(wbim) has an Au7

Nathan, is the Venus X sold out? I was on the Archived Products page today and didn't see it there. It was a small run at that price point, so I figured it is.

Also, will there be more Finally V2s that are not "With Bass in Mind" styled? I missed my chance on the original V2s, and had seen you were thinking of not making more of the originals after the WBIM were gone.

Last, what are your current plans for the Single Slice compressor? It seems like you said you weren't prioritizing it for 2024. Is it still something you are going to do, in the near future?

Venus X has been discontinued. It was not intended to be a small run, but it didn't work out and I scrapped it. Venus Z, an improved design (also smaller and less expensive), is in stock and ready to ship.

I don't know if Finally v2 will ever come back as it was, largely because the With Bass In Mind version sold over 100 units in two months, and the original Finally v2 averaged 12 units per month. That being said, my brain is never content with things and I have already started brainstorming Finally v3. Don't know when it will happen, but we all know it will happen.

I am still planning to do a compressor. As a company that builds pedals almost exclusively for bass, it would be hard for me to not do a compressor. But so far I've done a couple prototypes of Single Slice and I wasn't excited about either one. If something doesn't excite me, I don't sell it. I have another idea for it, but it will be a complete scratch design, throwing away the previous Single Slice design entirely. Not sure if it will be 2024, but it will certainly happen.

And sorry I haven't been around for a bit, I see I have a couple PMs that I'll answer in the morning. The good news is I shipped 20 orders tonight and have been working through some repairs as well. The bad news is it's now 2AM and I have to be to my day job in 6 hours.

Well I was thinking of the Unagi transformer that would connect to said XLR cause I was looking at the cutout on the board. Exciting times indeed!

It actually worked great, I used a high-voltage FET so it's taking the same rail as the tube and it sounds fabulous. The only problem now is that it's WAY too loud. I need some time to play with it and get it in a more comfortable range.

Yup, although that picture is v0.2 and I already have v0.3 which includes a MOSFET boost to bring the output level up to a more usable level (just couldn't find a picture of that one). It still needs some refinement before I'm ready to bring it to the world, but I'm very pleased with the tone I'm getting, so it already sounds good and now everything else is just going to be about making it useful.

Correct, but AFAIK he's using a parallel gain stage in the 6SL7 tube with a FET boost afterwards. Also, an added HPF switch set to 90Hz with a 6dB per octave rolloff (same as the Noble/Nobelium).

@Sushi Box FX is it not recommended to push the Grand Slampegg into overdrive with a boost in front? Asking as I think the B15 (presumably due to the 6SL7) overdrive sounds very nice.

No reason not to. Pushing More into overdrive isn't great because 12AU7 clipping is (in my opinion) unpleasant, but you can absolutely push 6SL7 into a delightful drive and there's no reason you wouldn't be able to do that here as well.

Quite right. I had a '67 B-18N for well over a decade. Pushing that thing into overdrive was glorious! It sounded different depending on whether I was just pushing the pre/power tubes in the amp hard on their own, or if I had it set edge-of-breakup, and then hit it with a drive or boost pedal. Both righteous, just different flavours of awesome sauce.

So apologies if this has been asked… though I don’t remember it being asked…

has anyone tried a sushi pedal after an octave to add a little hair to it? Not heavy distortion/fuzz, just light to medium? I’m curious about pairing one with a cleaner octave pedal to get a synthy sort of sound that would fit in pop/R&B.
