The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Are you going to NAMM? If so I'm guessing we'll know more in a couple days? If not when can we expect to know more? Enquiring minds would like to know...
I will be at NAMM. I don’t see
I will be at NAMM, but only as an attendee and only for one day, I have too much going on at home so my wife needs me home Friday afternoon. I don't know if I'll be ready to announce these right after NAMM, but I will be bringing them with me to solicit feedback from some players.
Hi Nathan, I am a Neptunium owner and I will be at NAMM. Will you be at a certain booth or roaming? If at a booth, which one?

I'll just be roaming, and only on thursday. Shoot me a message if you want to meet up for a chat, we can swap phone numbers and figure something out.

I've had several people ask me if Finally would still function when power fails or if the tube goes bad mid-song, and my response was basically no, because nobody (including Noble, REDDI, etc) does that. But then I thought, why doesn't anybody do that? Obviously the preamp is important, but finishing the gig without the preamp is better than not finishing the gig. So when I designed Venus Z, I added a switch to bypass the preamp and turn it into a passive D.I.
Which switch turns Venus Z into a passive DI? Thank you.

I suspect that would be the XLR Out switched to “Dry.”

Though, with further thought, I’m unable to think of a gig situation where one would “finish the gig” after loss of stage power. Seems a whole lot of other stuff, like the PA would be out as well. But, maybe I’m missing something.

XLR Out switched to Dry. Note that the output from a passive DI is significantly lower than from the preamp, so you should not expect to have the same volume going from active to passive. I got a few emails about that when I first started doing it.

A more likely scenario would be if the tube were damaged or failing but everything else on stage was otherwise functioning, but yup good point.

I got my first sushi box pedals in yesterday and I'm super happy with them! The tarantula fuzz is particularly fantastic - it sounds similar to my ss/bs mini with the bias turned down but with a much nicer response on the low B/E strings. The single slice compressor is squishy and delightful - I'm not sure it's replacing my empress bass comp but it's definitely got a good sound to it and it's great in it's own way.

The only one I'm a little less in love with is the grand slampegg - I knew it was gonna be clean but it's cleaner than I expected. I like to set B15 models to be just shy of breaking up and I can't quite get there with this. My bass is passive so I guess the thing to do would be add a boost in front of the slampegg? Bringing up the output on my compressor gets it to where I want but I don't like to always have compression on
While I love the fact that the GS stays clean, I really love what it does with something a little bit gritty in front of it, because of all the "warmth and heft" it has (I know, buzzwords galore) it seems to really take a bit of drive nicely without it sounding like you're using an overdrive pedal. I really like the Jive for that purpose at the moment.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I am interested in a simple EQ with no coloration, or as little as possible, to put in front of The Watt. I'd prefer $200 or less so I'm looking at the MXR M81, or TC Spark or Darkglass Harmonic Booster, but I am open to any ideas. I can't really justify the function or price of something like an Empress Para EQ, three bands with a selectable mid will work.

@CochinoBass I'd probably go with the M81 - the Harmonic Booster is a good option too, but might have more color than you're looking for.

On a quick search just to see what else was out there, I saw the Wampler EQuator - similarly priced to the M81, but instead of DI features you might not use paired with the Watt you get a second mid-band.
