Did you get around to testing?
Having the lows hit the compressor deffo has a difference in sound. I like the HPF before the compressor, gives it more of a 'natural' balanced sound to me. Having it after the comp gives a bit bigger lows (as to be expected) and more obvious compression to my ears. Either is good really, depends what you want and are particularly after.

Thanks for your reply. But the problem I’m experiencing doesn’t have to do with lows hitting the comp, unfortunately. It’s about the Finally making weird modulating/oscillating sounds when the Single Slice is upstream in the chain and HPF on the Finally is engaged.

Leaning more towards a preamp, not looking at doing vocal effects processing.
A super clean preamp / DI for vocal would be nice, even nicer for me if it was over at C2CE but I imagine it would be a Sushi pedal that could be going straight to FOH or a studio mixer.

I think that would be everyone in the band covered for a non amplifier gig with Sushi Box pedals, but I could be wrong since I am just a home fu.. ops plucker and have never played in a band.

I've been using my Diplomat as a mic preamp for demos lately, I feel like the EF86 works well for it.

I just sent Tommy an email with a detailed summary, but for those interested, I'm getting the same weirdness he is when I pair Single Slice with Finally v3. I tried a few things tonight but it's 1:30AM and I have work in the morning, so I'll try some more things tomorrow and see if I can figure out what's going on.

Received my The Watt! Love this thing so far - it replaced the Bass Station for a DI into my board (haven't tried with my amp yet) and I'm loving the big bottom thump on it. Having only 2 choices on the HPF for me helps.

It also matches my green wattplower, so I think it was meant to be!

Anyone try different tube types in the JCE? Curious on the two tube ones and which tube makes more impact?

I have an SBVT II on the way too 👊🏻
I have never been tempted to try tube rolling my JCE it sounds fine as designed for bass and guitar clean to crunchy.
To my ear the dual tube @Sushi Box FX pedals have a fullness and openness over single tube versions.

First gig last night with the Single Slice in the chain. My setup was Reverend j-bass->tuner->SS->Tone Hammer pedal->Quilter V803 and AK TC112 cab. I sent the DI off the amp. Used in ears and moderate stage volume in a 3-piece Americana band. I don’t know if anyone else would notice, but I like what I heard. I kept the tone on my bass all the way up because there’s some roll off of the highs. Nice, thick lows and punchy mids. Spoke with an audience member afterwards who commented he could have used more bass in the mix. But he also took our contact info for booking an event. A good evening!

Other than the HPF, what sonic differences do you notice with the new more?
It's going to come down to the sonic subtleties of the different tube. 12AV7 is a little odd specifications wise, even compared to the others in the 12A*7 family, and I really like it.

More v2 doesn't make v1 obsolete, it's not a night and day difference, but it's a cool enough change to get me excited.

Dont know if I'm familiar with this Sushi???
