Alright, I just put in my order for the Particle Accelerator. Now to wait for February delivery date . Can’t wait to here it though.
Does she warrant a surcharge or a discount?So when I got back from the post office this morning my wife said "You're going to take a break now, right?"
I'm trying to go through and update orders and answer emails, so if you've messaged me recently and haven't gotten an answer I promise I'm working on it and not ignoring people.
With regards to this though I have my wife half-talked into helping out. I was going to have her run machines and do enclosure finishing, but a year or so ago I showed her how to populate circuit boards with components and she said she actually liked that and would be interested in doing boards. So for the November batch at least a few boards will probably be built by my wife
I would say a surcharge if anything. She's an artist, so she's good at details. Every pedal she's ever done (4 I think?) has worked without problem. She's not as fast as I am, but I think that's just because she doesn't have as much practice. But if I can get her to focus on putting boards together I can be working on enclosures in parallel and we can get things done a lot faster.
If I can get my wife to the point where she enjoys doing this stuff as much as I do I don't think it will ever affect prices, but it would let me open more than 20 slots a month. I can confidently promise 20 builds a month by myself, but if my wife were to handle a bunch of the workload I could easily see that becoming 30 or 40.
Well I made a stupid mistake on the Particle Accelerator X last night. The biggest concern I had was that the connector wiggled when the tube was attached, which is not desirable. I wanted to epoxy it down but I'm all out of non-conductive epoxy (don't use JB weld on a circuit board!) so I tried super glue. Well super glue is high viscosity, meaning it likes to flow, and it managed to suck itself into the pins of the connector so I can't plug the tube in anymore. Whoops 
I ordered some proper epoxy and it will be here tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a better update for you soon. Aside from the regular awesomeness of having a 12AX7 PA the main reason I wanted to do the X series was to test my method of mounting a full-size tube in a small footprint on a circuit board, so if I can get this to work then I will be all clear to do the LA-1A layout.

I'm trying to figure out how to power the Slampegg without adding a wall wart to my setup, and I've got a Voodoo Labs Current Doubler Cable. Could I use that with a pair of outlets on a Zuma to provide the needed 600mA for the Slampegg?
