I am really enjoying my HW Space Heater, and in particular, the ability to appreciate tube presence and breakup at a reasonable volume. My only other tube-equipped pedal is the Compressore, but that's a different animal (Compressore > SH sounds juicy!).
I've been playing bass for 30 years and owned an SVT-CL for 10 years, but I think this is the first time I've really, personally appreciated the power of vacuum tubes. I now find that my tone sounds perfectly fine without the SH, just like it did before, but when I kick in the SH, I realize that "perfectly fine" now sounds completely lifeless and lacking.
Of course now, I've contracted "Sushi Box Fever". Fortunately, my girlfriend is being very understanding as even she thinks these devices sound amazing. Looking forward to the MORE.

It's great to hear theat the SH works well with the Compressore.
I have a Compressore in my chain, it's not really set up to add much compression (unless i play a bit of slap) but i do love the colour it gives my tone (and that's goinf thropug and Ampeg all tube PF50 head). I've got and SBVT and would like to add an SH at some point.
That said i also want a VB4 so something's gotta give!

Not to derail, but yeah... the "compressore = delightful color" rumor is true.
From what I've gathered following this thread, using multiple sushi boxes in the same chain can result in a variety of pops, whines, and hums. Remedies have included increasing the distance between the sushi boxes on the board as well as placing a compressor or buffered pedal in between the sushi boxes.

First I'd better try the HW Slampegg on my home board, just in case. Then I'll separate the Sushi's by more real estate
I experienced some self oscillation (high pitched whine) on mine and tested to see if it was related to the high impedance of my signal path. I’ve had success placing low output impedance pedals before the tune based pedal.
First successful use was putting a Wampler Tumnus in the signal path that has 1k output impedance on the buffer and the other is my Broughton Always On HPF that has an output impedance of 100 ohms. Since doing that I haven’t noticed any issues. I was thinking about building a little always-on buffer using the Klon schematic and putting in in a little 1590LB box. That way if I run them back to back I would have that buffer between them.
I haven’t experienced any popping noises with any combination of pedals.
This shouldn't work but it does...sorta.
Not the final arrangement, but the only things between the UA and the DW are the MBD2, the 2020S, and the true bypass loop (i/o2 of the C4). I do get a pop when engaging anything ahead of the DW, but no heterodyning between the two. Very odd, as there's nothing between them that would buffer the signal.
Still experimenting, and have a few more pedals inbound. Thinking of adding a BBA...

Unfortunately not. That’s ok, I have a local LA-1A lined up I can use with low peak reduction, just thought I’d try and save some money and board space. Im sure my 4th SB pedal will come in time.Only if he's got someone in the USA I can ship it to
I run a Compressore and a UA, do you run the Compressore before or after the SH? I found it worked better with the UA before the Compressore.
FYI Sushi will ship to Australia, so you can just order a More in the next month that opens; not that it fills the GAS need now, but at least you'd be able to get one

Are you running the Finally into the UA? Do they still play well together if you reverse the order?
