3) When can we have it ? :hyper:
3) hopefully October. I've put it through its paces, I'm having someone else check it over and make sure I didn't miss anything, and if it's good to go I plan to make it available for October, which I plan to open ordering for this weekend.

So, no drive at all? or just less available?
I did some playing with it last night with a passive P-bass, and I was actually surprised at the amount of gain I was able to get out of it. So the drive is there, just not as much as the dual tube Dr. Wattson.

So now the question is, what is the sound difference in:

-Elementary
-MORE
-UA w/tonestack bypassed
-Finally

I know there are other obvious differences such as the Finally having a DI, but I'm just curious about the sound differences.

Finally 1/4" out = UA w/ tonestack bypassed. Exactly the same circuit at that point.

Elementary is voiced different, the Hiwatt tonestack behaves differently than a Fender stack.

More is a category of its own.

Were I a responsible person I would have already made audio demos of all of these. Alas I am not a responsible person and have not done so.

Would a responsible person put a tonestack bypass on the Elementary?? :)

1) It's the Dr. Wattson minus the last tube stage, so essentially a "clean channel" version of Dr. Wattson.

That is basically how I'm running my DW, clean clean clean...
Last nights board:

The DW sounds like nothing else I have. Still searching for the right adjectives, but the bottom is big, round and smooth. Scooped in the mids, but I think my favorite part is how 'present' the top end is. Overall, I might call it dark-ish, but there is a clarity in the top end that is so bell-like and clean. I did swap V1 for a 5751, and may still experiment with lower gain tubes. Right now gain is at 9 o'clock, master at ~11, bass @ noon, mids @ 3, treble just past noon.
The UA is set for just a bit o' fur, and a very old school tone. Never thought I'd like the Fender sound, but this works great for a lot of the older covers we play.

The Morningstar is way over the top for just the C4; question is, do I add more midi pedals to justify it? or pull it and add more tubes? I can always get another widi device and connect an iPad directly to the hub for patch selection...

Coming from an individual currently on the clock at work and skipping a meeting to read about guitar pedals, I don't know if I would be able to do that. Might make me feel dirty.
It's called MULTI-TASKING and your employer should respect you for it. #hustleculture

I don't skip meetings to read/talk about pedals, but 95% of our meetings are skype/zoom so I read/talk about pedals during meetings.

Would a responsible person put a tonestack bypass on the Elementary?? :)
It's doable, but it really would only be a couple components away from Space Heater/tonestack bypassed UA. I'll look at it and see if I think it makes sense, but the Hiwatt stack is really what differentiates Dr. Wattson.

Who are you, and what'd you do with Nathan?
I mean the bass obviously has a (tube) preamp in it, but it has a bypass switch so I can run it passive for the sake of having multiple options available for testing ;)
