It's actually a Guitar Center Performance Guarantee, which is one of those extended policies, covering stuff even the manufacturer wont... so you can throw the thing off a building and they'll replace it... that's what I was told anyway. I imagine any time a unit needs repair, you'll be shipping it somewhere... I suppose it might also be at their shipping expense via call tag, but I don't have the docs yet to verify details. I'll be talking to my salesperson likely today. I'll ask and relay.
IMHO, as I'm sure you understand, since GC is sole sales AND service for these, It's a very significant component of the ownership experience, so I can easily understand why you pretty much can't have a Markbass thread without GC being significantly discussed. However, as long as it doesn't turn into a GC bash or love fest, I'm fine with that.
Thanks. My concern is that with AI, Epifani or EA the company is doing the repairs and everytime I've needed sevice it was free whether in or out of warranty. Additionally, the quality of service reflects upon their reputation and quality. Sending a unit to Guitar Center to ship to the lowest cost bidder for repair doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling...
I realise that and im not meaning to havea go at anyone, just pointing out that what starts out as a thread talking about the MB gear turns in to a discussion about GC and service more than the gear.
Guess we have it easy over here in Europe.
I have played the mini12" combo (own one) with the 2x10 traveler, not so hot, Mr. Bowlus's shootout review is spot on. The 12" alone is very warm and I generally cut the low-mid control to 9:00 to bring out the low end. That little combo is very impressive, I pair it with the standard 151HF for larger venues.
I've been six months with no warrantee in the mail. I already rattled GC's cage once I guess it's time to rattle it again.

I have a feeling the larger cabs are better than the smaller, traveller ones.
I tried one of the full size 1x15's out against a 151P and to me there was a big difference. Much better tone from the bigger cab IMHO. laws of physics i guess.

The traveller 121h is my favourite single cab solution although I've done plenty of gigs with just my 102P.
The 102p /STD102HF combination works really well.
When I tried the Mini 121 I found it boxy and it bottomed out much easier than the 102p does. I'll be interested to try the re-dimensioned Traveller cabs when they ship.

Okay, now that I've sold my Thunderfunk, I need to find an LMII! Are they in stock at any Guitar Center stores, or are they still selling floor models?
I was told when I bought mine that they'd have NIB in a few days, but since mine had literally only been out of the box a matter of hours, I took it.
I'm imagining these are going to be frequently in/out of stock until this initial flurry subsides, but seems like the supply line is good, so you shouldn't have to wait long if you do have to wait.

Yes i understand that GC is where you lot over the pond will be getting your MB gear from and so its relevant but this thread will end up with a hand full of people wanting to talk about what store has MB in stock, whether its ex demo or brand new, how much they were asked to pay for it etc rather than owners talking about the gear we have.
like i say, understandable and predicable but it sort of leaves us European owners out in the cold a bit.
Still, we all love MB, thats the point of this thread i guess.

Even though the SA450 is better (IMHO) most people, even over here prefer the LMII. I guess its the size and the fact that it just sounds good.
My thinking was as i have the a 1210 with its mid bump i would need something that can tame it a bit and so the SA450 seemed a better bet. After a good few dozen gigs i hardly use the mid EQ. like a lot of people i tend to use the filters more than the EQ. maybe a bit of low end boost but thats about it.
I would say my fav cab at the moment is my UL115 . Certainly sound wise its fantastic to my ears. Its full range (well, as much as i need) and has a nice full bottom. I have just replaced it with a 4 ohms UL212 as i needed a bit more volume and the two do sound different but both really nice. I have a feeling the Ul212 will be my fav once i have done a few gigs with it. In fact as im selling the UL115 in certain it will. Certainly it cuts through the mix better and can go louder.
The 1210 is, well, it does the job
I use it with my SA450 for a band that dont play too loud. just weddings, parties etc. A bit more subtle than the other band that i use the GK/UL212 with although both have the same line up.
With the 1210 it can get to me a bit. its very full on but i have been told out front it sits well in the mix and has lots of low end.
The SA450/1210 rig is the one that i dont worry about. I know it will do the job at any of our gigs but with maybe a bit of tone loss compared to the other rig.
A bit OT but i was in Florida in Feb and there is a music store that i visited. It wasnt anything special but i nearly fainted when i saw the prices compared to over here. Its so cheap
I haven't even gigged mine yet, and I'm already finding this with myself as well.
Yeah, we do have it pretty good here for a lot of this stuff.
