Very flexible... I can use just the MB combo, the MB combo + the Bergantino cabinet, The GK head + the GK cab, The GK head plus the Berg cab, the GK head plus the GK cab and the Berg cab and also if things need to get really loud, everything at once.

FWIW, I recently ordered a LMII and SD800 from the Chigaco GC (thanks for the reference, Ken!). They had the LMII in stock, and the SD800 had just been unboxed.

I am interested to hear what you think of them, how they differ, and what cab combinations you try. I picked up a Little Mark II and played a punk rock set tonight with a jazz bass through 2 aguilar GS112's and it absolutely killed. Tommorrow night, same rig, but Musicman SR5 and Line 6 705 playing covers.... I'm excited!!!

Just used my little mark at my 17 piece big band rehearsal and everyone was blown away. It reproduces the sound of my bass and now I can use the low B like never before. Brilliant concise tone for walking bass with a contemporary edge.

I noticed a lot of talk on the states not getting the Sa450. Now, I currently own a Sa450, and run it through 2 Mb 410's. It is the best tone i have ever come across, but I have tried the Little mark 1 and 2 and I have to say that there really is not a whole lot of difference except for the mid scoop and the Vle and Vpf seem to be a bit more responsive.

Yes it's a great amp, but dont think that you are missing out that much. When my band finishes with our Debut Ep I will show you guys the tone that comes out of this combination.

Anyway, I just want to say that Markbass will eventually be as big as Ampeg, and most probably have to move there production out of Italy, so hopefully our Italian made stallions will keep there value quite well.

Tell me about it! Up until borrowing Kens LMII, I was skeptical of the MB stuff, and didn't think it would have the versatility or punch of the TF. Well after using The LMII on the gig and in the mix...I'm convinced. It made my TF sound bland and boring.

And as you know, I REALLY love the Thunderfunk!!!

There's definitely something extremely punchy about these LMII's. I've currently got it plugged into that Hartke 212 I've mod'd that I had at the last borg and it's unbelievable. SUPER punchy... the clarity and attack of each note is great. Marco definitely has something going on inside these amps, and it's NOT just a simple matter of a certain frequency peak somewhere. There's something about the way the amp behaves. I pretty much run the EQ "flat", but then I run the VPF up to about 8-10, depending on the bass/cab.

This is the first amp I've played through besides my Eden Time Traveler that I felt just sounded great "right out of the box".

I have yet to gig with it, so we'll see how easy it is to "tune to a room". We have a couple gigs coming up the weekend of the 26th, one "bad" room, one "good" room. We shall see.

Jason, when you get your MTD, you won't believe how it sounds with the LMII and your 310... be prepared...

I picked up a SD800 head a couple of weeks ago at GC San Francisco, & I'm totally impressed with the pure fat tone of this little head. I also just recieved an EBMM BONGO 4HH from TB'er Bass-Only this week, threw on a fresh set of Fat Beams strung BEAD, playing thru any of my Avatar NEO cabs 210-410-212, all 4ohm cabs. I had a rehearsal today at the studio in Novato, playing thru the 212 cab, & I was ike in LOW END NIRVANA !!! THIS SETUP KILLS !!! Looks like I'll be leaving the "ol SVT4PRO home ALOT. I also just recieved a gadget caled a SPEAKERMATE model 5 from a co. up in Canada. It's a bulletproof looking little black box that has one speakon in, & five speakon outs, & they GUARANTEE that I can run up to four 4ohm cabs SAFELY from a 4ohm min. head. I'm going to try it out next weekend using a cheapo Behringer BX4500 head & my trio of 4ohm cabs. Don't mean to hijack this thread, But has anyone here ever used one of these ?

I played this at NAMM, which is not the best place to audition gear, and it was one of my favorite Markbass heads. I specifically wanted to that that model, as it is most similar - layout, at least - to my Music Man HD-500, which I really like. The inherent tone was very similar to the most of the other amps based upon that 500w output section, and the main difference was in the controls/EQ. You can dial in a hint of tube warmth/grit with the Gain and Master.

Now, an unexpected surprise was the R 500, which is the all-tube preamp from the Classic 300 (yet another unexpected gem!) and the same 500w amp section. Man, that thing was just plug and play rock-n-roll!
