Hi there!
This is my first post here so I thought I'd better say a few things.
I'm just about to buy a TE AH250 with a TE cab.
See, the cab is the odd one. It's got one 15 inch driver and one 10 inch driver and I can't for the life of me figure out what model it is, as the writing has disappeared from the wee sticker on the back.
Anyone know?

Also, wondering if anyone has any little tricks you can pull with the graphic EQ

I just sold my Hexa Valve :crying:but before I did, I snapped a quick shot of my Valve/VA heads (missing from the photo are the V8, the Twin Valve Combo, the VR350, and the XV and SMX preamps). Sorry about the fingerprints. They don't show up like that without a flash.

Neatly stacked! Why did you sell?

Well, first off, my Sadowsky SA200 has rendered many of my tube heads obsolete, believer it or not. Second, I only have so much room! Third, I decided that the Hexa and the VA400 were a bit redundant.

Tell me, how does a hexavalve compare to the V8 we both own? Soundwise I mean.

Very different. The Valve series has a more full midrange sound, and they have a smooth articulation. The V8, by contrast, is more dynamic and cutting. Both are great, but definitely different.

Tom.

The cab you have is the 1510X. It is rated at 300 watts and is an 8 ohm cab. It is also a bi-amp capable cab.
You can find out more about the bi-amp capabilites here (page 28): [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Tom, I can't believe you sold the Hexa! :crying: Well, I hope it went to a good home.

Heh, I enquired about buying Tom's Hexa a while back but the shipping would've had me beat and I've decided I'm holding out for a V-type all valve of some description, I get the feeling they'd be more my sound. Of course both would never go amiss but my GAS fund has limitations...

Bucephylus: I hope it you like it. The Valve series are some awesome amps! :bassist:

Aj*: Yea, I already have a Quatra so I plan to either hold out for a V8 or V6. Ofcourse, the new Trace Ah1000-12 has been calling my name!
In an example of Western over-indulgence, this is actually the second Hexa I have acquired in the last month. I got the first to match with an NV610. I was so pleased with that result that when Tom listed his, I snapped it up on the grounds that I will need these in the shop from time to time. So, my Alembic F1X and QSC PLX 1602 are both on the Bay, and I'm trying to explain to the wife why I need two of the same amplifiers. Unlike some of the rest of you, I don't plan to do any more amplification acquisition for the time being, and to just go with these Hex's. So, don't tell me about the V6's and V8's - TMI!

So, anyway, thanks Tom, the big unit will be getting a healthy dose of Motown, R&B, and Funk; with a little blues and jazz tossed in for good measure. It should be happy!

Woah, glad to hear it's gone to someone who really appreciates it, congrats on that :).

I lost an auction on a V6 a while ago, I think there were 6 bidders and 5 of them TBers. I think it was TBer Gareth who won it in the end, in retrospect I regret not just saying "Ah what the heck, I'm going all in" because it's probably going to be several years before another V-Type all valve turns up in Britain. I'll be watching out for it though :D.

Well, I´ve realised the mistake I made selling my Trace 210 combo a few years ago. And after using various other amps, Glockenklang and EA iamp500, I´ve got a AH350 coming. I´m selling the EA and can´t wait to get gigging with the Trace. Got a couple of cabs on order, a 15 and a 210. I´ll post pics when everything is here.

I just got me a 7215 SMC 15" 300w combo off the bay. It sounds great! I now remember why I love trace gear - I used to have a BLX 130 with the weird slit down the front but sold it (not enough power for my needs).

My new combo shakes the walls though! Love it. And the dual band compressor is superb.

anyway, its an old (donno how old tho) 7eq 1x15 combo, and it was the only one ive seen on sale here on the most popular buy&sell sites in sweden. Got it for about 440 USD wich is pretty cheap, because everything here is expensive :spit:

Ill post pics when i get it!! :hyper:

i just picked up the same exact combo as this the other day in a trade. Mine has the vinyl covering instead of carpeting. can someone let me know what the combo model number is? i trying to dig up whatever info i can find on it and i'm not having a lot of luck.

the model and serial numbers on the back are unreadable.

oh, and some pointers on getting the grill off would be great. this thing is all kinds of dusty.

As everyone knows, I'm a Trace Elliot freak! The first time I really noticed Trace Elliot was back in 1990 when shopping for my first rig. When I tried a AH600SMX with a 1048 and a 1518. WOW! The tone and power just blew me away! The green logo's and cool UV setup added a little flash that I liked as well. I think that was my first case os GAS.

Unfortunately at the time there was no way I could afford a Trace rig. :crying: I ended up buying a Hartke 2000 which I very quickly traded in for the 3500.

Well, I took several years off from playing and sold my equipment off. When I picked up the bass again I didn't know what amp I was going to buy. During my search for a new amp I came across a RAH350SMX $450. Needless to say I bought it on the spot! I still have this head and love it. Its been rock solid reliable and has enough power for almost any situation.

Since then I have had sort of an obsession with Trace Elliot stuff. I have added a QuatraValve, 1524 2x15 cab , and a 1518 1x15 cab. I try to collect about anything thats TE! I collect .pdf manuals and schematics, pics, factory paper manuals, and even apparel! BTW, if anybody wants to get rid of or finds some paper manuals please let me know. I haven't been able to find much on the GP7 and GP11 series preamps/heads.

Other brands still interest me but I don't see myself changing to anything else in the foreseable future.

See, I told you I was a freak! :help: :p
I bought a used Trace Elliot GP11 and a power amp 2x250w/500w for some years ago here in Norway..I sold it cause the poweramp was so darn heavy...and i regret it big time!! I want it back and I want it now! I remember I got the manuals for this pre amp and power amp from maybe gibson or something or maybe it was TB, Remeber they didn`t have much on their website, but I sended a mail after the manuals and got them right away...I will check my computer and if not I will ask my brother if he got them on his.

TB Rocks:bassist:

Speak to Shane at British Audio Services (can't remember the website address) he's your man for Trace gear in the US.
