I can hear the cats playing right now as we speak... I borrowed a Vaccaro/Kramer bass from down the street for them to try it out with.

It sounds like 2 Goliath's in one box... The strip in the middle of each set of 410's are the ports for it. Very nice for what Andy was asking for it. Now our warehouse guy has that 810 and his SVT 810 together for his metal gigs!

I'm just about to go back to using TE.
I used it for years and loved the sound, I had various bits of kit over the years.
I started out with a GP11 pre-amp through a crown power amp into a Session 4x10, quickly changed to a TE 4x10, they were so popular I had to wait about a month for the 4x10.
I then added another 4x10, and later moved to an SMX250 which was superb.

I then, foolishly, 'progessed' to using SWR, I then moved onto, EBS and most recently Aguilar.

While all being fantastic amps, I've realised that I had fallen into the trap of buying gear because it was associated with a name player, and style of playing.
None of them sounded right to my ears, they were all lacking something that the TE gear had.

I've just bought an AH250 of ebay for £120, in excellent condition, and I'm about to buy a 2103H cab. I'm then looking for a good 1048 cab.

I'll then have a 2x10 for smaller gigs and rehearsal, and couple it up with the 4x10 for larger gigs.

I tried the new Trace Elliot gear yesterday, at the London guitar show. I've read a few negative reviews from people, but I actually quite like it

It looks superb with the all green illuminated fascia, and the cabs look really well made.

i'm not sure this is the best way to post this but anyway here it goes:
a friend of mine is selling is old trace elliot combo and i was thinking of getting it when another friend told me not to cause they(the company) no longer existed and if it broke i would never get it repaired and stuff!any truth in that?

One of those P/J, 4 knob, 3 switch, 30 inch scale Vacarro/Aluminum necked Kramers... we have a shop that is close to the Orange HQ that was cool to lend it to us for the afternoon...

Yeah Kelly, thanks for that and Russ from the warehouse thanks you as well! Actually, Andy's Pro Hire ended up selling that Eden pwr amp to him as well... Good people over there at Andy's.

I just had a buyer back out of my GP11 pre, I'm thinking about adding it back to my concert rig. Anyone else still using on of these dynosaurs?

if it's really a good deal, snag it. Trace is still around. They are now owned by Gibson :bawl: As for getting it fixed, if something breaks take it to a local trusted repairman. It's all resistors, caps, and junk like that inside that can be found at Radioshack. If it sounds good and is "The One" it's worth paying to have it fixed if it breaks. IMO of course.

Yes this is right.

Formerly ownened by Gibson, then Gibson shut them down.

So, now they are up and running and use Peavey as their distributor to either the US or North America (can't remember specifically which).

ok, i am desperate looking for some info on my Preamp.

Pre-Gibson Trace Elliot, sounds absolutely beautiful. I just need to clean the pots, and get some new fuses. Anyone can tell me anything about this? What kind of Fuses go in there? What kind of tubes? how would i go about cleaning the pots?

need help ASAP please

So I was out looking for a nice practice amp the other day...

and I found this at a yard sale for $50.

Pardon the poor pictures, but I had to borrow my neighbors digicam for this. Couldn't get a decent picture with the thing.

It's a pretty kickass combo, sounds great at low volumes..but it can get slightly boomy at higher volumes. That's probably mostly due to the room; a little eq'ing clears most of it up anyway.

For 50 bucks, I'm completely satisfied.

Sweet amp dude! Are you sure it's just a preamp? What does the lit up bit at the front say?

It is written on the back panel normally. If it has worn off check the manual I linked for you or check out the wiring schematic that is also available at British Audio Service.

What kind of tubes? how would i go about cleaning the pots?

It only has one tube located in the pre amp section. It is a 12ax7.
