the TRACE ELLIOT thread

Hi all i have a trace combo with 1 x 10 in a ported type of box (see pic) this a GPSM7 (that pic is another model but mine has the same pseaker enclosure) its 150 watts rms at 4 ohms. I tried it today with a trace 4 x 10 ported box and it rocked! Using the combo on its own is ok for practice but its really a crap sound, but plug in into soemthing decent and it comes alive. I am amzed at the pwer of this thing i think maybe at 150 watts its quite underated. The trace 4 x 10 i'm going to buy is a bit beat up (years of roadwork i guess) but it sounds great and built like a bloddy tank!

Its for sale at $600.00 AUD ($450.00 US) which is maybe a bit steep but its too good to pass up and it matches the amp!

Does anyone know what era these amps were made in?

It's fairly quiet at low volumes, but it is incredible with the volumes @ 12. So loud, infact that I made an Ampeg fart a little!
Gig on the 30th May. Can't wait! I think I've got the sound I'll need (Trace's version of old school, really). Should be a blast! :bassist:

And Trace are back. They had all their gear at the London guitar show @ the weekend there! My buddy got to play through the 7 & 12 bands, coupled wit 4x10+15 stacks (bastard!). He said they were fantastic.
I've played a 7-band, and I really dug it. I tihnk they look awesome!
excuisie typing, bandaged finger ;)

I believe i've seen one on ebay recently (last 6 months or so), it was a new-style (two-channel) V4 with a 15" speaker. also saw a new-style V4 2x10" combo. they look sweet, but i don't like the lack of portability of combos. never heard one though.

When Trace was advertising the Vs with the 4x12 cabs they showed a 1x15 combo V. Did it ever come into production?

Most definately they did, for only a short time though.

Along with an even rarer 4x8 V-type combo. (and matching 4x8 extension cab too).

But here's a link for the amp you are talking about for sale right now here in the states. Check it out.

Yeah they made those V-type combo's, but I'm pretty sure it was the older style though one though since at that time they were making 4x12's for their V-types, and during the Gibson (newer V-type) days they weren't.

I actually kind of prefer the newer V-type stuff to the older though, since the Kaman V-type combos were Hybrid's, and the Gibson stuff was all tube.

Ok folks,I started a thread about this amp, then remembered this particular thread was TE specific. I found 2 TE AH600 amps, and I know nothing about them. Both are in really good condition and are in the 600.00 range. I'm curious about the weight, and how the twin compressor works.I'd like to find a spec sheet also. Thanks.

Guys, just a quick question. Kinda need a quick answer too please! If I run my AH600SMX head with no cab, just DI out to record with, will it do any damage to the head? I think I know the answer, but don't want to ruin in, just in case I'm wrong.

Cheers!

Could be the 4x8 V-type combo they made?
That's what it looks like to me.

Tom, it is all SS so no problem running without a cab.

Hi guys,
this AH1000 is on aus ebay for a starting price of $950.00 ithink the but it now price might be a bit unrealistic but it doesn't have a bid yet. Are these good amps talk to me guys.
That price is inline if it is a SMX or later Gibson era GP12X head and is in great shape. Are they good? Hell yea they're good! :bassist:

Again, the price sounds about right if they are in really good condition. For info on the compressor and specs for the head(s), go here: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Just look at the appropriate manual for the series of head in question. Good luck!
