no doubt,
i feel almost like the ampeg is on one other side of the tube amp spectrum, and the sa200 on the other.
the svt2pro has lots of lower end grunt and push, that just says AMPEG. its a powerful mother that really imposes its voice onto whatever's going into it and whatever its sending to.
the sa200 is much leaner, meaner fighting machine. its a more hifi, taut, tube sound that's more akin to what you'd find in great console or rack gear, very different than the ol' goober slow syrupy tube sound many might be more familiar. you get that sweet brownie chocolate warmth, gorgeous articulation, which is especially apparent, the louder you go, and it just feels faster and more responsive than most all tube amps i've used/owned.
dont get me wrong, i LOVE the svt2pro. a terrific amp who's EQ section i especially love. but the sa200 at this point much more greatly complements my current playing/technique. and besides, its half the weight, but w/ all the tone i want!
After my tech has fixed everything, I think I need to post a pic of my setup:

I'm about to buy a SA200! I'm interested to buy a good 2x10 to go with it. I'm considering the Bergantino H210, but it's only a 8ohm cab. I have no intentions to run two cabs with the SA200. I will mainly use it for small gigs an especially recordings.
Are there any 4 ohm cabs options that go well with the SA200, or is the HS210 a good standalone cab? I'm looking for a thight, focused sound the let's me hear the sound of my basses and amps.
I ws wondering why you'd want a 4 ohm cab to go with the SA200?
You could use a 8 ohm HS or HT as the SA200 has a switchable output transformer: 8ohms, 4 ohms or 2 ohms....
Thanks for the fast replies!
Any recommodations for similair cabs as the HS210? Bacause Bergantino cabs are hard to find in Europe.

I know, but a week ago, I didn't knew I had a change to buy the SA200.. If I buy the HS210, I will order it through Bassdirect. I'm just curious if there are options I need to test before purchasing.
Ok, lemmee get my fire suit on....
Right!
I don't own an SA 200, and I don't have this cab in my possession anymore anyway, but, I bet the Ampeg 210AV would be a great match for the SA200.
I know, it's cheap, it's light, it's Ampeg, so it couldn't possibly be a good match for something as "high-brow" as the SA200....
but I bet it is![]()
