I am just presuming here, but what about a Aguilar db210?
A buddy of mine who played my HS210 told me it sounded almost like his db210.

Paul Turner of Jamiroquai plays one with his db212 and the db750 amp.

pretty different to me,

the hs210 just has this tougher pound in the lows and pretty nice and open high end. the db210 is darker and has a thicker lower midrange. REALLY interested in hearing how my sa200 sounds thru it.

think you mentioned you didnt like the hs210 w/ the sa200, cause that was one of my fav combos before bikeplate sold me his killer sa210, which from sheer guestimating, seems like its the hs210 and db210 rolled into one?

I think mine's kind of an "export version". I saw one like mine on japanese website ..... (not like in Japan=Metro)

I know, that's a hard thing to say about the SA410/SA200 combo, but I prefer 12" speakers in general. It puts out more organic mids "in the right tonal spot" than the SA410 (to my ears, anyway).

Well, I went down to the Fifth Avenue Fretshop (in Columbus, Ohio) yesterday to hang with my good buddy (and BGM Technical Editor) Phil Maneri. I wanted Phil to look at one of my basses, and as long as I was coming down, he asked if I could bring along some all-tube heads for him to check out. Of course, I had to bring my Sadowsky SA200. :D

We spent most of the time playing Phil's vintage ('63, I think) Precision, and the cabs were two EA VL-208's (Phil's personal cabs), and we were all surprised how great they sounded with these tube heads! What was even more unexpected (and even more impressive!) was how good the SA200 sounded with Phil's old European upright! According to Phil, it was quite possibly the best his bass had sounded, and we had zero feedback issues, even without using a high pass filter. :eek: Very impressive. :cool:

Jeez I hate it every time this thread gets bumped to the top. It makes me think of selling something to get one... and I hate the thought of selling anything :D

Might have to though. My curiosity about this amp is not going away...

The pair of EA CXL-112 cabs arrived this morning. I immediately put them into duty in my stereo replacing some JBL Cabaret monitors: lots of mid-range. Should I leave them in my stereo for awhile to break in the speakers?

Can't wait to try them with my Sadowsky SA200. I think they will pair up great with my fretless 5 string F-Bass.
