The Valenti Megathread Part IV

That's the party shirt! I wear it to a lot of gigs and always get a ton of compliments as well as offers to buy it! The woman who asked us to play yesterday specifically asked that I wear the shirt. Who am I to say no?
Just pulling your chain. My golf pants and vacation cabana wear make your shirt look like something one would wear to a job interview at a Fortune 500 company.:woot:

Bass:hyper:... Shirt :rollno:...LOL
Congrats on the bass and the tribute to grandmother.
BTW...I'd wear that shirt if I could get away with it in a praise band.

this bass was built for TB user "ibanez collector" who shot the nitro and relic'd it. Pretty sure it was white, not what it's aged to that they called faded mint green. fwiw.

you can find it at the link below, just scroll down from #90 to #83

WOAH!! #83 looks nice. I bounce into Rockin Robin now and then when I get to that area when I gig at one of Houston's most premier blues clubs. Only about 30 miles from me. We are hosting one of the blues jams' there in August. So may not get to that area til then.

And that's a nice price too. I paid abit less for #25 from a TBer a few months ago. And I swore I would soon order a Valenti more to my specs; #25 is very close.

But I just scored a Carvin SB5000 off Ebay and its' in pristine condition right down to the brand new looking hard shell Carvin case. Been wanting to try a SB5000 for some time and it don't disappoint. I was looking for a J5 in burst with maple board and onboard preamp. The super birdseye'd board is beautimous. And the neck feels very nice and its super light too. This woulda been about how my new Valenti woulda looked once ordered.

So now I have to rethink how I want to design my new Valenti. Hmmm, #83 could qualify.

I would love to hear what a P and Soapbar combo sounds like...

well; it's only kind of a soap bar: it's a "big split:"

The Big Split 5 is a split coil humcancelling version of the Big Single Bartolini P2 ® sized Soapbar.

The tonal characteristics are very close to the Big Single 5's full and rich pallete, but with the advantage of being humcancelling.

The Big Split 5 is slightly darker than the Big Single and a great choice for a player looking for a rich and full low-end soapbar.

This is the ultimate pickup for Jazz Bass ® - on - steroids style tone. This pickup fit as replacement for the Bartolini P2 ® sized pickup.

It's my current 24 fret body. This bass is 33". The neck pocket is a little deeper in to the body and the bridge lays out further away from the edge of the body. Also, it has custom pu spacing which brought them closer to the neck.

Here's a pic of lowendmafia's 24 fret:

What is the woods used on this bass?

I use Kallium strings on my 33" scale bass. I used to own the bass you are talking about and my new 33" has the same pickups but a Noll preamp and it sounds great. Kallium does balanced tension so they work really well on any scale bass, but the balanced 5 string set is really great because you avoid the floppy B string that some string sets have.

What strings are you all using on your Valenti's? I've got #158 with 33" scale... trying to find the right string combo to go with the Nordstrand pre/pups.
