Yep. I saved up my paper route money to buy Maxwell. I knew I'd be like that guy getting blown away in his chair if I bought those and made my own mix tape of my favorite hits from the local radio station.

Yes!!! I'm gonna call it a 3-way tie - TDK SA, TEAC CRC, and Maxell XLII. They all worked equally well for me. I remember BASF not sounding good to me. Maybe I had lower-quality ones...

TDK SA-90 all day long

I used both TDK SA-90 and Maxell XL II for cassettes, and the latter for all my 10 1/2" reels of tape for the TASCAM 3440.
