You are lucky. I kept breaking controllers.

The Sierra Games: Kings Quest, Leisure Suite and Larry, Space Quest, etc...I would get the cheat book and play the game from beginning to end and not leave my room till I was finished. I figured it took me anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. Never really kept track but I know the day was pretty much done when I finally reached the end.

It's usually the contacts inside the housing that get all cruded up. Just take them apart, clean the ball at the end of the stick and clean all the contacts. Make sure the contacts are making good connections with the ball and put it all back together. Usually good for another year of use before you have to do it all over again.

Or give out Blue Chip or Green stamps when purchasing, that you could redeem for gifts?

At one point, some competitive stations would give you 10 times the amount of purchase.

Now you're lucky if they don't give out funny looks if you want to pay cash!

I still remember the unique taste of S&H Green Stamps. :sour:

One of my chores as a kid was pasting all the stamps in the books. We used to have oodles of them, and I hated doing it.

It wasn't so bad when you could use a whole sheet (at least I think the size of a whole sheet fit on a single page), per page, it was when I had to tear-off and fuss with a lot of small ones.

You'd think they would have had a better taste (or no taste) to them, as opposed to that unique taste you mentioned, as I had so much glue stuck in my mouth after I finished that "you'd think" often sounded like the word "unique".

I used to see those too.
I also used to see a page or two before it an apparatus (pantograph) that aided in tracing over any size drawing to make them larger or smaller. IIRC, the drawings you supplied, were not unlike the ones used in the ad for it!

Years later, I wondered if that device also gave others the idea to buy that device (sold by the same scam art school), then trace over the above cartoons, submit it to the Art Instruction Schools so we could also pay for art classes!?
