Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

Funny we grew up with all of this pretend violence and war game toys but it was rare to spill over into the real world!

Agree! We played with toy guns, rifles, etc. I even had a grenade with a pop cap. Played army all the time when we were kids. No violent streak here.

I did, too, until about age 8. None of that carried over to adolescence or later. I did like to shoot a BB gun and get into mischief with gun powder but never with the intent of causing humans or animals any harm.
Guess I was never cut out to be a warrior.

I can't find a picture of it, but this reminds me of the Revel "model kit club," in which one would be sent a new model kit every month for a year or so. I can only guess it was advertised in comic books, or some such. I got my parents to sign me up because the introductory kit was a diorama of the Apollo moon landing. One of the later kits was a viking ship.

That is amazing that watching nuclear bomb testing used to be a tourist attraction.
I posted this a while back but all of the nuclear powers have detonated over 2000 atomic tests combined since the late 40’s.
Now a few more idiot countries are joining the atomic club. Oh Boy!
Wonder what that did to poor Mother Earth.
Plus now they’re worried about cow farts! Ha! Insanity.
