Thunderbird Club

I do that but I'm not a deer...
Then stay off my lawn. Between the deer and the dog and occasional coyote, I have plenty. The last think I need is a crazy Canadian with a watermelon helmet taking a dump in the yard. I don't have much of a reputation to maintain but I do have to draw the line some place. But if you must, please use the creek.

I can’t help it, I keep coming back to those pics of the ThunderJag you built and marveling at the way you made that wood grain pop! I might like to try something like that in a matte finish on a future build.

Is that mahogany? Can you elaborate on the finish process you used? As a side note, does she sport a convincing Tbird vibe with those pups?

BTW - you have my vote for best build. For club members that haven’t checked out the build contest yet here’s a link to one of the categories, some interesting stuff made by fellow TalkBassters. Vote for your favorite!

More votes needed for the Thunder Jag, and rightfully so.

Call me L7, but I just don't understand f---ing* with stuff that'll kill you or at least make you FUBAR.

Kind of reminds me of Toy Caldwell (Marshall Tucker), Prince, Tom Petty. All old enough that this should not have happened. Even I know not to do things I did when in my teens and 20s.

...another Paul (McCue) original concept/composition/lyrics - oddly enough, on a "Cub Scout" outing at the circus I witnessed a high-pole performer fall to her death in Omaha Nebraska in the '60s. Etched the gravity (pun intended) of the term "death defying" in my young mind...

Nice! I see the bass this time.

Coyotes are the worst. Rockets, catapults, and explosions all the time. And non-stop Amazon Acme delivery trucks...

As I approach another milestone birthday in May, I'm once again thinking of moving on from my Lull T5. Since my Country band disbanded following the illness and subsequent death of lead singer, I just don't use 5ers, and would rather have a 4 I would actually play in my Hard Rock band, where I use a drop-D for only 2 songs, and am really enjoying my ThunderJ and ThunderP.

I know the conventional wisdom is don't sell a Mike-built bass as they are appreciating in value, but I'd rather have a bass to enjoy playing, not looking at, I already have too many of those (7 5ers).

So looking for sale, trades/trades plus cash, Gibson, Dingwall, Epiphone VPs,or Greco 4string Thunderbirds. When I bought the T5, they were going from $2,700 to $3,500. Prices have gone up since Mike's untimely passing.
