The ones in your photo or mine? Lima is built on a desert, everything is irrigated here. If there is a tiny mist here which is very rare it's a major rainstorm, the climate is weird, we're surrounded by mountains on three sides and the Pacific Ocean, it's got its own microclimate.

on mine……interesting that southern Peru is recognized as the most arid area in the world…..more so than Death Valley, Gobi desert or even the Sahara….

Finally got the strap loks installed. The strap was originally bought for an ESP LTD F knock off that was red with all black hardware. Sold it when I found the T-bird. There was no comparison but not sure the strap colors go well with the tobacco burst.

Every bass or guitar for me. Big Headstock Todd on the VP has whacked the ceiling at least twice in the Room of Requirement. One of them - I think the basic IV and my heavily modded Hagstrom I, ran into a ceiling fan in another room.

I've used a pick since I started playing in 1989 but usually used my fingers most of the time and used a pick whenever needed. For example when my first band did a couple of Motörhead numbers ("Limb From Limb" and "Over The Top") I switched to a pick and turned the pre-gain of my Peavey Basic 60 combo to 10 (post gain to 6, normal clean setting was both at 8...). I think I used a pick more when playing at home along with Yes or Gentle Giant albums or later Cheap Trick. I learned to palm mute playing along to The Police albums (thanks Sting!).

At the aforementioned theater musical that employs me at the moment I use pick about 90% of the time since the originals were played with the plectrum. When I started the pick playing was sometimes frowned upon as being "easy" and "cheating". Well, I've noticed that for example fast disco basslines with the octave jumping etc. is not easy at all, especially if you usually play that kind of stuff with fingers.

On the previously posted audio of "Get Back"(recorded ~81), I was using a pick for the "disco octaves" technique. However, the past few(10?)years have been mostly fingerstyle. I use pick for effect on a few tunes, but I'm kinda rusty.

It’s actually an 1991 Orville, with the wrong trc. I bought it in Stockholm some years ago, and stupidly sold it in the end of last year. It used to belong to Ulf ”Rockis” Ivarsson (solo artist, bassist and producer for Thåström and much more).
The reason I sold it was my 1990 Gibson TB, that just got all the playing time… but as always, the day after selling it, I was banging my head in the wall for beeing so stupid

Highly recommend someone here pick this up. @dagrev….. There are only 400 of these in Pelham Blue. The price is excellent. And the chrome hardware looks great. A great addition to anyone’s flock.
