Thunderbird Club

I need to go to bed…

Fedex finally delivered on time, but the Wanderlust Green Epiphone Embassy I have had on order since 3/12/21 is junk.

I exploded the pics they sent me and I can see the scrape mark on the upper bout, and the very discolored fingerprints (almost rusty) on the claw and bridge. Scuffs on the edges of the bridge pickup. The plastic is still on the pickguard, but it looks like someone was using a hacksaw as a pick.

those things were kind of irritating, but I can remove the plastic on the pickguard, polish off the fingerprints, and scuffs, and buff out the finish scratch.

I wasn’t even going to fret about it.

Then I went to set it up with the stock strings.

action way too high, with the bridge bottomed out.

pickups lowered as far as they can go, and they are WAY too high.

I could cut the saddles to lower the action, BUT with the pickups bottomed out, the strings would be on the pickups.

my other embassy is pretty much perfect and it was purchased as a Demo model.

I had it out of the box less than an hour and a half. It’s already boxed up and ready to return, pretty shaging disgusted right now…

Replacement arrived today and the other one went away…

I just spent a few minutes setting her up with the stock strings.

and she’s near perfect, I’ll need to cut the A saddle a little deeper, and a little tweaking on the nut.

I am going to go lined fretless on her in the next few weeks.

finish on these is purely stunning. Green more so than the red.

here’s a crappy quick picture, new phone can’t figure out how to make the flash go off…

My soon to be daughter in law has a silver car with hail dents. She names everything. It's name is Maxwell. She is in her mid-20s and is a complete Beatles fan.

I would like a green Thunderbird. The next refin will be green. I haven't decided what green. Chevrolet Rallye Green is at the top of the list at the moment.
Yes I keep thinking of a NR build painted like the Brabham BT19

or BT62

The green really does look fantastic. More so in person.

Ahem!

Sweet.

Don't figure out how to take the frets out either.

Cool setlist.

National Pet Day? I just took our puppy to a long walk to get the energies out so we can sleep... Got home and still going strong. Then I started to talk to her about the different neck pickup locations and mentioned the overdrive pedals, cab sims, played the bit I recorded...
